Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Al, the hinges look killer!!! Really finishes the engine bay nicely! Did your hinges bolt up to the existing hood bolt holes? Did you gain any clearance using these? The reason I ask, I'm about to bag my Suburban, and I'm curious if these will solve the hinge clearance issues when laying frame on 20's.

Thanks, and keep up the great work!!!

I have these hinges as well. All the bolt holes lined up fine, also don't have any clearance issues. I have 20's on the front with air. Hope this helps!

The only thing I was told was that they will not fit if you have factory a/c box on the firewall. As already mentioned the holes do line up perfectly.

My truck does not lay frame so I dont know if you will have a clearance issue or not
It does still have the inner factory inner fenders.

The hinges look great and I can only imagine how much better the hood operates with those on there, I bet it even closes the way it should every time!

Re: Al's 71C10 Rebuild

I had someone try to buy my truck and I got really close to letting it go. since then I have been thinking of what else I could do to my truck. Of course I could pick it apart as there are some small details that I would like to do. so with this in mind those of you that have followed my build since day one I would like to see what wouild you guys suggest that I add or redo!!

you ARE NOT going to hurt my feelings in anyway shape or form so how about it guys bring on the suggestions....

Make it more reliable and more fun to drive- whatever that means to you. For me, it's handling/braking upgrades and modern drivetrain. That is, if you wanna drive it- if you want a show queen- lay it on the ground. Both? Porterbuilt time

the paint is maybe a 6 out of 10 however not really considering it as I dont want to have to be worried sick about a chip or a scratch when I do drive it. Which several of my friends barely drive their vehicles because of the 10k paint jobs. I will one day have the truck perfectly painted and any dent out of it and all body panels aligned perfect.

thanks for the suggestions keep them coming.

things that I am considering at this moment

* Re upholster the seat in black leather
* Redo the door panels
* Replace the bed wheel inner tubs (Mine have dents on them)
* Billet inner door handles, vent window handles and crank handles
*Radiator filler panels (Not really sure about this one I dont know if I really like them yet)
*Smoot front chrome bumper (Waiting for the rear one to be available as it does not seem it is) then replace both.
