Need more seat time/dry roads to asses the handling (it hasn't even been aligned). But the ride is not as stiff as I expected and it seems to corner really flat. You're not the first to make the Volvo comment. I can see the resemblance too.

Sharing this build with you guys has been a great motivator for me. Not only to keep moving forward, but also to strive for high quality at every step of the way. Thanks to everyone who came along for the ride. The end results are/will be better because of you

Hey, awesome Frizzle. That is one sweet sounding Sunbeam, you must be stoked with the result, and so you should be!
I think we could all feel the moment when you pulled out onto the road.
Thanks for posting the video, been sitting with my pail of popcorn quietly waiting.

So I went on our local (kinda local) kijiji up here and typed in sunbeam and this is what I found!! I think that maybe you should decorate yours like it, definetly sets it apart from the crowd. hehe http://alberta.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...AdIdZ409396334

Looks great!! Congrats again. There is nothig like finishing a project like this and getting to finally drive it. It is like a new car, but the best part is you didn't buy a new car, you BUILT your own. Makes that normal new car feeling so much better. Enjoy!!

the colour suits the car and the imperfections adds to the sleeperlook , i would be tempted to just paint the bare metal and leave the outside as is

Volvo 122S looks very similar. I'm not a guru with these, just remembered seeing one in an article I recently read and thought it looked like the sunbeam. So I went back, looked a agin and googled it and found this one on the first page.

Man I'll tell ya, light weight cars are the shiz! I've been driving a classic Mini Cooper Sport for a couple weeks (belongs to a friend). I'm hooked on the go-kart handling!

Right on brotha! Nice S! Thanks for the good word. I'd go AP2 as well if I bought one. I prefer their looks and the lower redline wouldn't bother me. I've surfed s2ki a bit researching this project. This thread has been linked there. I remember someone commenting on the 3.73 rear I went with compared to the 4.10 in the s2k. The verdict; first is plenty low, like almost too low. I think this combo worked out very well with the lighter car. Intake is stock S for now, but plans call for aluminum tube and a cone filter. What filter is that?

Thanks Mal! My son got the first "official" (with a proper seat) ride today. Wound it up a bit more. Holy crap that engine just wants to sing! I'll get more video soon. Have to say I'm loving the lines of this car even more with the new stance and wheels. They tend to have that effect though

Also, I'm on the hunt for a chrome or polished trunk-lid luggage rack. I think that would really set it off (roof rack is over). Any suggestions?

Off hand I can't point you to any, but I do know they are available. They have been discussed before on Tiger forums. I just can't find a link to the discussion on them.

I hope your son enjoyed the ride.

When the Tiger was still in the panel shop, a young fella came in with a MK11 Escourt, with a nicely dressed Ford Zetec engine with twin side draught Webers. It looked cool, and didn't muck around when asked.

Cheers Mal
