Re: Daverods project 66

a little extra wood to hold it in its spot in the door openings should fix that , make sure theres an extra (heavy )person nearby ready to jump on the back of the engine hoist cause it will want to dip forward when you roll it under the chassis

Re: Daverods project 66

I don't see a problem with the cherry picker tipping if the arm is adjusted right.

Re: Daverods project 66

For a straight up dead lift no problem. Where the problem comes in is trying to roll the cab / hoist around with the hoist extended out that far.

I state this from my numerous experiences of moving my stepside bed around using my engine hoist, by myself.

If you have some people that can help it's always better to utilize them to stabilize the cab and help with positioning.

Re: Daverods project 66

It did want to tip the first time I tried it. I had the hoist to far away from the truck after I moved it closer maybe 6" away I worked fine. Did'nt damage anything. Now I need to pull my 350 trans put my torque convertor on reinstall and put my cab on the frame. Anything I need to know about putting the torque convertor on? Fill it with dex3.

I need to make some kinda rig for lifting my bed. The old lady always bit#hes a lot. She's getting use to it though.

Re: Daverods project 66

make sure you can pass the tires with the crane before trying to put on the cab sumtimes the crane bumps the outside front tire , so you need to take it off and put that side on a jack

It a 106" screen, and a projector. The sound system in that room (7.5 )will blow you over. The couches are wired to 150 watt. sub amps. so they shake. The women love it. oh ya, forgot one. I might be addicted to TV.

Re: Daverods project 66

oh well 42 inch main flat screen TV , 24 inch computer monitor and a 17 inch laptop ....... guess Wat I'm looking at most of the time .... right the 17 inch laptop , cant beat 17 inch when its 10 inch from you're face for movie experience it covers the 150 inch wall behind it from my viewpoint
i think the future will be special goggles , kindah bleuray walkmans so you can see 3D without special glasses or high price 3D TV sets

its been done before and the length is right for it , it is a little too narrow but longer a arms in the front and a different diff for the rear could fix that

measure the wheel to wheel to see if it works i think the blazers are a little shorter , 500 for just the frame steering and suspension seems a bit steep (you dont use mush else ) a working engine included for that price or little more would be nice
on the other hand there S10 V8kits available

I think I 'll go with a engine that gets good gas milage. That way I'll be able to drive it by the time I get it done.
