Went to the dyno today.

Made 368hp and 345 ftlb torque at the rear wheels. Gained 70hp after a jet change.

I've got a bit of a traction problem well into 3rd gear, something I'll need to work on.

Re: SoCal checkin' in

I have a few pieces to take out of my doors but the doors themselves (empty shells and stripped glass) are free if anyone wants them.

The bottoms are rusted out so they need some love but I really don't want to put these in the dumpster.

Re: SoCal checkin' in

Hi guys,

I'm new here to the forums from So. Cal. Here's a pic of my '78 C10. I'm hoping to gain a lot of knowledge here and to learn a great deal on how to fix it up and make it a good reliable truck. I never learned nor was taught how to fix up cars so I really hope to get that jump started quickly. (See what I did there) Ha ha! So far from lurking everybody seem so cool and friendly so I'm excited to join the forum!

Dangit ! .

Here you alls finally have a Meet & Greet right near me in La Crescenta and I'm 3,000 miles away =8-^ .

I hope it was fun , those guys meet there every weekend and are not always interested in old trucks .

InitialBoss , WELCOME ! that's a nice looking stepper you have there , first things first : it needs a HOT oil & filter change then it needs greasing , lots and lots of Zerk fittings under there to shoot full of grease , the wheels must be off the ground for proper greasing .

Post Re : Saturday Fun

I still don't have a new windshield ~ they called me and cancelled , apparently they refuse to work on " old cars " even though it's the same job as any Mercedes.....(they have rubber grommets too) .

In any case , I have to take SWMBO to Nevada early to - morrow morning .

The folks there never said anything , they just turned their noses up at my old '49 3100 that IMO looked pretty good .

Many of the Road Rallies I go on , use that parking lot as a jump off place becuase it's free and clean , bathrooms , coffee and even brekkie if you want it , all right there and a gas station there too .

Have a great time , please take and post some pictures .

-Nate

Looks like I wont be cruisin to any shows like i planned. I pretty much sold my 65 c10 but just waiting for new title to come in the mail cause Dmv has issues with old one. Truck is going to Japan. It was fun while it lasted But time for something alil newer so I can get to where I am going in life and when I am settled in somewhat I can buy another 60-66 c10. Truck looks nice! Is there a big US truck scene over in Japan? Good luck with your future plans!

Re: SoCal checkin' in

You can always spot the Japanese and the Swedes at almost every Pomona swap meet. They pay cash with a clean title ready to sign over. I've had a few ""very" attractive offers on my C10 and my 65 Vette.

Yes, they pay good real good money (I know), But, unfortunately once there gone they are not coming back, in a dozen years or so we might have to go overseas to see an american classic truck/car show.
