Today, I recieved some parts. Not much but at least it was some.
2 head light pig tails
4 clearance side light pig tails.
still waiting for the pig tail for the distributor and the seal for the rear window.

Saturday, I will be pulling my 3.73 out and installing a 3.08. Or just putting it on the shelf untill I get a 700R4 transmission.
I have two 3.73's and I am trading one for a 3.08. I am going to keep one of the 3.73 for insurance, just in case I need one in the future. Never hurts to have a extra one laying around. Parts never eat so that is a good thing. But I striped apart three trucks to make one good one this last year.

Well, we made the swap and installed the 3.73 in his truck. He went home happy.
How I will be looking for a 700R4 transmission to go into mine.

I hope so. It will be a while before I do the 700r4 swap. So I will put the 3.08 up on the shelf for a while.

I ordered some more parts today. Sent my column off to be rebuilt.

all these parts are from Classic parts.
got my eyes on a 67/68 hood in good shape.
going to order a wiring harness for the truck in a couple weeks.

I bought a hood today. It looks like a good one. I will know next week when I drive over and pick it up. At least I can fix this one. My old hood is a little sick now.

A new part came into. A large rear seal for the rear glass. A distributor pig tail for the HEI distributor.

Hey George If I remember correctly a 3.08 is better suited for a TH350 or TH400 for highway speeds, where as a 3.42 is better suited for a 700r4, the reason why is because if you are pulling a hill with the 3.08/700r4 combo it will be too much gear and force a downshift, you might want to look into it first before you make the final decision, that is what Vic told me a while back so I'm leaning on his years of experience for this one.

Hey Brain thanks glad to hear from you. I called several times and no answer. Thought you left the board. If that is the case I already have a th400 in the truck. I have heard some people say the 700r4 is better with over drive and some say th400 is better. I think I will try the 3.08 with the th400 for a while to see.

Hey George... I am curious on this also... What motor are you running... I have a 327 with a 400... I am still trying to decide what gear to run and also considering a 700r4...

I will be running a Small block 383 and a th400 with 3.08 rear end. I am going to see if I really need a 700r4 transmission
as far as the fuel I don't know a friend get 18 on the hiway. I am hopeing the same.

Nothing to report. To wet and cold here in Florida. Raining and 45. It makes it hard to get motivied. But I got the hood and will pick it up next week. It is on the east coast of Florida. I live on the west coast. 2 hours as the crow flies. I need to make a trip to the dump so I can use my trailor. Now it is full of construction debree. Been doing honey doo's. Well anyway maybe soon I will post something tha shows work being done.

I like my 3.08 with a TH350. It does ok on the highway, but overdrive would help. Plenty stout off the line, too.

for now I will use my th400. I will see if the 3.08 is better on gas. But I will get a 700r4 later. I like it for the over drive.

The big brown truck came by today. Got a few parts. Still waiting on my big order. I did fill the motor with break in oil. Now I am waiting for the other parts so I can crank the enging. (Wiring harness.)

yea it was. I will be going to St. Augustine and Gainesville ,Fl. to get some parts that I need to pick up. to big to ship.
A hood and bed strips and rear fender supports. It will take me all day to do this, but meeting other board members is also a plus

I got the hood and bed strips. It was a good drive over to the west coast of Florida. I can't say that it was a good drive back. For it rained all the way home. But I did get to meet two great guys. D. passmore and ZUKowner. I got to see how far along they are with their rides. passmore is very knowledgeable about stuff I took for granted. He is a very nice guy to deal with. and zukowner well he is doing a jam up job on his two tone truck (black and silver). We talked seem like for a hour but only a few minutes. These two guys are top of the line guys. They are down to the earth types of guys. So if anyone has a dealing with these guys well rest a sure you will come out on top. George

The bed strips are for a short fleet but they will fit a stepside bed. They are new never been used. I am planning on getting them chromed.
