Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
For those interested… Here is where I found the info on the cab mount torque values…
IMG_3819 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr IMG_3818 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr This morning, before the oppressive heat and humidity kick in, I decided to get the Accelerator Pedal mod started… Many thanks to markeb01 (page 5 of his epic build) for an awesome write-up on this mod... As previously posted, I sourced a free set-up from a friend that had parted out an 85-87 cab… Here's one of the pics Mark posted… IMG_3844 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Here is what I've accomplished thus far... Before going under the knife… IMG_3845 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr IMG_3846 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr After surgery… IMG_3847 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr IMG_3849 by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Will post more once it is mounted… Ordered my firewall pad yesterday, Thanks to Bret and his write up on the pad he purchased through the truck and car shop...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
The wheel Merry-Go-Round continues...
I was originally going to run some 15's that a friend gave up cheap, then traded for some 20's after realizing that the U-Bolts on the rear would hit before the rim in the event of a flat... Not wanting to chance that, the 20's were an even trade, although I wasn't a fan of that style wheel, the no out-of-pocket aspect was alluring… When the boy showed up Father's Day with a friend of his, that has an 85 square body, the friend offered to buy the 20's... After a day or 2 of thought, I shot him a price and the immediate response was, "SOLD" I've always liked the old school Cragar SS wheels and needing at least a 17" wheel to deal with the lowering in the rear, I decided to go with the Torque Thrust by American Racing… Going with the 18" Anthracite...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Sounds like that wheel deal was a no-brainer. I like the new wheel choice much better, & I'm sure you will too. Hard to beat a timeless 5-spoke!

Don I love this wheel choice I think they are one of my favourite wheels
I will try and paint the ones I got in the same style with a dark grey spoke and polished rim

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Agreed, you can't beat 5 spokes with grey spokes and a polished rim, I'm going to paint the spokes on my 20's grey to try to copy this style, I'll just have one spoke to many
