It's a 52. The title thing is a long story. It does have a title and it's in my name. I took the guy to the DMV and did all the work before I bought it. I might have to take you up on the frame. I was looking for somthing more complete. I talked to a motor "dick " he said as long as I just buy parts I don't need a title. Said "I sould keep all reciepts so they can charge me taxes when I get a new title Special Altered truck title". Then I thought who's ever going to know if it has a s10 frame under it. I think I'll just keep my money. Thanks anyway big brother.KMA my god. Thanks Bubba I'll keep it in mind. This build will be way slow. Last I have the start.

Re: Daverods project 66

But I want it to be invisable and what you see is daverods 52 build? like how the first one is it just says daverods build. I did it onces but those brain cells must be hashed. If you believe all that crap. i'll get it I just have to mess with it some more it works for now. To think a year ago I could'nt post a picture.

Re: Daverods project 66

Just be carefull with that "special altered title"
A friend built a Custom hand made frame, put a 35 Dodge sedan body which had been narrowed , chopped and tubbed. A Ford tractor tilt nose was customized for the hood, and Olds aluminum motor, quick change Halibrand axle . Lots of goodies and sweet extras ....
State wanted to set taxable value at "average new car value" since it was basically a "new car" and they bent him over to for payment before it got titled..
Moral is ....start with a titled frame. and keep receipts.

Great -- Now I have to check out your build in "the 48-59 section"????? I spend enough time on here now!

Re: Daverods project 66

What "special altered title"
it's just a reg 52 think I'll get plates tomorrow. Then I won't have to mess with it. They have never looked at anything I've got plates for. But I will keep all reciepts. As long as I just buy parts I don't need a title. Idaho doesn't require it for parts.

Re: Daverods project 66

in the states the chassis dont have numbers , at least as fr as i know , the vinplate IS the identification
i dont know about america but type aproval didnt exist in the netherlands before the 70's so there arent any records of wat was in or on the car before that as long as the amount of cylinders march with the documents
i wouldnt tell anyone as long as you have a clear title to the vin number slap the plates on it and go

Re: Daverods project 66

Thats the plan. I'm pretty sure the frame has a vin on it. I'll know tomorrow I'm going to look at a s10 frame some guy has. He wants 300 for the frame and running gear. I'm going to run the vin to see if it's hot or has a lean.

I'm trying to get my wife to let me get her uncles 85 c10. It's a one owner with a perfectly straight body, and only surface rust. 350/700r4. trans is messed up and only has forward.
