Re: 2wd Blazer and Jimmy's find thread

I did see the same Blazer on ebay, on three different auctions. Didn't figure it was worth mentioning. The prices of the original 2wd definitely seemed to go up this year.

Problem is for the dealers that have them listed at those prices, is that they don't seem to be moving. I'm a truck guy through and through but if I had a nice blazer which has a price tag of $35k and have a nice chevelle or camaro for the same price....I'd take the car before the blazer just because I know I can still find good deals on blazers in the $15k's and 20k's.
I just can't pinpoint what singular event caused these people to jump the prices that much. It has actually turned me off of getting one. I've been looking at Cheyenne and Cheyenne Super short beds for less money.

Re: 2wd Blazer and Jimmy's find thread

This is just my opinion but I will throw this out there. 2wd blazers have been scarce for quite some time and with a big movement in popularity with these trucks its only natural for the price to go up. lots have guys converted 4x4s to 2wd and bring pretty decent money if done well. I guess it boils down to if you want a real factory 2wd blazer you are going to have to pay for one. I have owned my 2wd for several years and whenever I go out with it I'm amazed at how popular it has become. Take the top off and you have a factory roadster and I would rather have one of these trucks than a chevelle or Camaro any day. You can go to any show any where and see a Camaro Chevelle or tri five but the chances of seeing a 2wd first gen Blazer is slim. I think these are the coolest truck out there myself!

I'll second that opinion..... Camaros, Chevelles and Tri-Fives come in many different flavors. You just don't see that many real 2wd Blazers and Jimmys....

Re: 2wd Blazer and Jimmy's find thread

I sold my 2 wheel drive Jimmy in one day advertised on Craigslist two week ago. Guy called, sight unseen, made an offer I couldn't refuse and sent a guy with a tow dolly and it was gone. It was a project I was never going to finish. It's a decisions I'll probably regret, but downsizing due to retirement in 4 short years. I still have my 4x4 Blazer. It's my keeper. I agree 2 wheel drive Blazers and Jimmys have become the new hot rodders roadsters. If I didn't already have my Blazer I would never have sold the Jimmy.

This is very true, the muscle cars are everywhere and I have actually loved having each blazer I have owned (four total I believe...one 71, a 72, a 79, and an 82).

What I am saying is the market is way too soft and not ready for the prices which some of these people and dealers are asking. $30k plus for something that is not show quality is pretty ridiculous. A year ago I sold a pretty nice one for $17.5k and the one prior to that two years earlier for $24k and that one was a very nice one.

I am back in the market for a blazer, its just hard to justify spending the $30k when I look at the ones currently available and then look at a Camaro or Chevelle at the same price and the cars are nicer.

Speaking of blazers...no one has posted one in a while. I saw this on the Nashville CL. Guy wants $35k.

Nice looking ride. I have never seen a 70 2wd Jimmy before. I bet the production numbers in those are really low. Thanks for posting.

That's the jimmy that I called the guy on right after he listed it. Asked him to send me pictures of the SPID and Vin and he texts me about 4 hours later and says someone came and picked it up. Told him I'd shoot him an offer after he sent the pictures.
