The Drop is 5.5 in the front. 2.5" drop spindles and 3" drop coils. Front rubs a little at full turn. We've since went with a 2" drop spring. The rear is a FlipKit with one leaf pulled and helper airbags installed for hauling and trailering duties. So it's about a 6 or 7 inch drop in the back.

Pete, what brand spring did you use, and are they stock arch? Do you have any other lift on the truck?

Thanks,

Hi Larry - love your pic btw, too cool. Springs came from Alcan Spring in Colorado. Zero lift stock height built to order w USA steel. No body lift. The 33" tires bump it up a bit. I'm happy with the stance as I can scramble in/out pretty easily.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

Obviously I like the stance on your truck too (along with everything else about it).

You may not remember, but, this is the truck I was going to get when I contacted you in Albuquerque. My plans changed in California and it was early morning when I came back through so I didn't bother you. Anyway, I have it apart now and I may as well put in new springs. It looks like it sits a little low in the front.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

Nice! Thanks for the link. I'm on board.

I re-arched the OEM springs on the K20. What a waste of time/money. The ride quality was substantially improved with new springs. I also replaced the plastic liners/anti-squeak spring pack pads with the new springs.

One of the major truck vendors sells small asphalt pads for use between the bed to frame mounts. I used those at the time of the build. Maybe it quiets the ride a little bit. Maybe not. These didn't alter the body lines at least.

Post Leaf Springs

' re - arching ' leaf springs is an old time scam ~ they ride higher again for a short while then poop out again, money wasted .

The teflon spring sheets really work wonders at making the rig ride smoother while still retaining the height and load capacity .

Beware cheapo springs ! .

Diamond or Eaton are both very good and there used to be plenty of other American spring manufactures .
