Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

Here's mine. Given to me by the original owner along with tons of paperwork including the original owners manual in the sleeve and the warranty manual and protect-o-plate. 71k miles, never wrecked just a little rusty! Just installed a Muncie M20 behind the factory 250 inline 6. Odd combo but I hate column shift!

Cool truck, bullitt. A CLR bath would work wonders- bet there's still a lot of factory paint/primer hiding in all that surface rust

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

The white truck has 4" lowering springs from Wesern Chassis in the front, and a lowering hanger and 4 leafs removed in the rear. New shocks all around. I'm really suprised on how good the ride is because there has been other post about how bad 3" springs rode. But the springs will move in the pocket with the suspension hanging all the way down. I will use them again I'm that happy with them.

The blue truck has cut springs in the front, and lowering hanger in the back with several leafs removed. I'm just starting on the blue truck so a I'm a little unsure of what to do. I'm tempted to try a 2-1/2 drop spindle and the 4" lowering springs and a flip kit out back.

Subscribing to this thread.

I am sure this question has been asked 100 times, how do I get the rusted look ?

These trucks are sick.

You buy a rusted, original truck.

Fauxtina is kinda lame IMO. You can't fake character.

Hey thanks. It's not looking very good right now, it was probably a bad decision to list it this week. It's a want to sell not have to deal so we'll see.

ultrahd, I saw your blue truck on CL and couldn't stop staring at it for about ten minutes. Both trucks are very nice. Bullitben, yours is awesome too.

Looks good. Did you paint the checkered grill insert black? Been thinking of doing that myself

I don't know him personally, but I see the truck compete at a lot of the Goodguys autocross events. I believe the owner's name is Kevin Bapst. Here are some pictures that I took back in 2010 in Charlotte (the truck has changed a little since then):

If you search for "Kevin Bapst" and "Goodguys", you will find some videos of this truck on the track.

Dang thats nice!!! What size notch you have in the back? Did you have to flip the carrier bearing to keep the drive shaft aligned?

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

Yes I painted the grille black but I used spray paint so even with good prep it only lasted a year, I didn't have to flip my carrrier but the drive shaft moves a ton aired up it points down from the carrier and aired up it points up lol but its as smooth as can be with not vibrations or bi.din I did a 3 inch cnot h and flipped shock brackets with 2 inch drop blo ks with the bags mounted in coil position with a 3/4 inch hat

Thanks for the help. I searched "Kevin bapst" and "goodguys" together on google and found a good amount of info.

Looks like he is a member here but doesn't visit often.

Link below is to his board name and a thread about the truck.
