Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
they come from early 90s GMC Sierras it's what they call the 60/40 seat the 40% being the drive seat and the rest is what I would call a mini bench offered in Smurf blue or hideous red, so both of my seats are both from the drivers side
you might find this thread helpful How to fold down 60/40 bucket seat from 90s GMC Sierra and here's what they look like recovered in cow skin Last edited by Gregski; 06-13-2023 at 10:40 AM. |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
I put that seat in the 48, as the split bench. I now remember you saying you did the two drivers seats. Interior looks good.

this was from their remnants ie left over pile so I did not pick these sizes on purpose we gonna work with what we found, fortunately our battery tray be 30.5" long so these were perfect length |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
I don't usually drill perfect size holes, but when I do I make sure my measurements are off by 1/2 an inch !

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
You're in luck, these high-quality, medium strength fasteners from McMaster-Carr come in Grade 5, 7/16-14 fully threaded, 1 3/4" length, zinc plated, hex-head, and 2 ea.
But wait, there's more! Order now and we'll include an extra 3 bolts! (just pay an additional $5.02 ea) Plus, as a bonus we'll throw in an extra 1/4" in length on each bolt for free! (just trim to achieve the desired length) 2" Fully Threaded __ Coarse ASME B18.2.1, SAE J429 5 92865A675 $5.02 Medium-Strength Grade 5 Steel Hex Head Screw, Zinc-Plated, 7/16"-14 Thread Size, 2" Long, Fully Threaded Packs of 5

Our Mission: Connect the black BMW "Safety Box" to the Lexus Inverter
... using the stock OEM connectors as much as possible turns out the BMW connection from it's Safety Box to the orange external plug on the OEM battery box is very modular and I luv that |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
so this is the empty OEM BMW battery box that's what my batteries came out of, and that's where the orange connector is from

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
So everything below this plate is always live and lethal, 351 volts just waiting to make it a bad hair day, anything above this plate is only live and lethal when we turn on the truck to drive it or are charging the battery

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
that black box is arguably the most important component in this entire operation, I say arguably because some would say without the aftermarket open source VCU (Vehicle Control Unit) you can't drive the car, but in terms of safety without that black Safety Box your truck goes BOOM! and makes black smoke
