drip rails are looking good...still happy you decided to go that route? glad to see you still making some progress, even with all the other cool customer projects that put yours on the back-burner

Thanks. I have a big collection that Jay has ever been in or built. He was also on Monster Garage (the White Trash episode.) I have that CD. He went to work for Jessie James after Monster Garage.

I have no idea where he got his talent.

Yeah, one of the reasons why he won so many awards. A guy named Ryan painted it. He's lives in Vegas now. Don't know the name of the shop though.

This is what was on the tailgate. And yes it's a real 100 dollar bill.

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up

I scored yesterday. Some guy around the corner that I do some work for called me and asked if I need a windshield for my truck. He had owned his 66 for 40 years, and had this windshield in for only a couple of years. He took the windshield out in the 90's and had it sitting around all these years. He wanted one that had a tint on top. This windshield has a small chip and a couple of scratches in it. All minor. He said just give me $50 for it. This is keeping in in with my Cheap Build budget. I might have the whole windshield tinted with the lightest film.

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up

One time I was doing a lot of welding on my 56 Belair body panels. It was hot as hell out side, and all I had on was shorts, and sneakers. When I went back in the house my wife said "what happened"? My face, chest and arms were red from welding. I was doing a lot of spot welds without my helmet on.
I'm glad I had my shorts on, or...... well you all know what I'm going to say.

funny thing about the welding , my father had put a weld on a rack his boss came to talk to him and put his hand right on the weld
it was hot so he pulled of and while nursing his hand sat down on the same weld

It only takes one bad burn to learn your lesson. Or maybe two if you're hard headed.

I learned the first time. This was in the 80's, and haven't done it since. I even bought a welding jacket.

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up

I'm supposed to be simi retired. But like the money coming in. Not much time to work on my own truck.

I have 2 more jobs on top of all I have. One is a very original 1970 C-10 that needs some body work that a body shop doesn't want to do. I'll take it.
