Looks good.

In the pic of the sub box... what's that under the amp and between the two subs?

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

It was 'another' amp... ha!

I was referring to the top amp, I just couldn't make out what was beneath it.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

i would normally not have this much sound equipment in my truck but...i sold a truck to a guy that was sponsored by Kicker a few years ago and when i asked him if he was going to take the system out of the truck he was trading in he said no, you can have it they will give me new stuff !! So what you are looking at is a complete FREE Kicker system including all wiring/ cables/ rca jacks !! that was a pretty good day !!

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

Filling it with oil by taking off the vc's is not too big of a pain, but getting the engine to breath properly is starting to worry me. I may have to cut a hole in the back of mine for a breather. Just something for you to ponder. I already have a thread going to help me eliminate the issue. Might help you out too.

I just remembered one of my older trucks had an oil fill tube at the front of the intake and it had a breather cap on it. Allowed the engine to breathe with solid valve covers and came out so you could fill it with oil.

Adding an oil fill tube to the front of many newer intakes is possible. Lots of the ones I have had were designed with a flat area up front so you could drill them out and install an oil fill tube. Yours may have an area for this too.

Man,... you stripped those vent windows down way more than you needed to.
I hope you have plenty of rivets!

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

That looks like it is built to last. Much better than some of the 4 beam settups I have seen. Will this help with the rigidity of the whole bed?

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

i think i might have at tendenacy to overbuild.... probably wont help the rigidity because it will be hinged with gas struts. my rear bed mount has stayed where it was from the factory and my front mounts are very solid mounts so i dont think i will have any issues with rigidity

Mine has resorted back to an expensive pile of parts too by way of removed carburetor. Waiting on my mechanic to clean it. Stupid fuel filter malfunctioned again and allowed trash through. Promptly bought new fuel filter. Argh!!! Still reaping 'benefits' of first body shop (trash allowed into gas tank).
