Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
I'd wait and see what the spacing looks like after the bed is on. The added weight might raise the front end.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
Thanks! Work's been crazy busy so it's kept me off the forums and out of the garage. I've gotten caught up with many customers and am through the trade show season so I will have a little more time now to hop on the forum and check out the builds...and finish mine. Hoping I can see this truck in person again since I saw it right when you were buffing the paint before most of the main mods were done besides the engine/engine bay rehab. You've completely transformed it!!!

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
Dad and I started the bed today, it looks killer but I need some 2" blocks. . The back might not be low enough.
I'm having Chinese at the moment.. I'll post some pics when I get home. Everything is painted etc.. its just a matter of positioning the wood and bolting things back up. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
Some pics from today. The bed is definitely not sitting where it's supposed to be we just have the one bed side at this point, the other one is in the booth. It should be ready on Monday or Tuesday. The bed will come about 1" more to the outside, and a bit closer to the cab of course .. but you get the general idea.
The drivers side is just sitting on the wood at this point with a couple bolts in it. It's just a secured starting point to get things lined up and square. We had a couple spare pieces of bed wood so those are there just for place holders. It's coming on down a little. Don't worry. Look ok ? I am stoked fellas.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
^^ oh, .. it hasn't been polished / buffed. That's right out of the gun. The outside of the bed side was not painted. Just FYI. I took that picture for the line of sight down the side of the truck for wheel offset, etc.
I wish the outside of the truck looked like the bed.

Everything looks good Chad! I'd like to see a full shot of the truck. It looks like it might not look too bad at that height!

Looks great! I agree...get it outside and drive on it for a bit before you go any lower...I think these trucks look great with a little hot rod rake...

Looks really really good!
Great choice of wheels. Did you have to run a spacer on the back?

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
Thanks fellas.. The track bar hasn't been adjusted yet and with just one bedside on it, I'm not sure how the rear wheels will sit once its all bolted down.
With 6" bs.. I'm thinking I might need a .25 wafer type spacer (or so) but nbd. Just something I was willing to accept to get these wheels for what I paid for them. Looking back through the pics I posted when I couldn't decide, the Muroc III etc.. I think it all worked out. In fact now that my step is a fleet I would sell this truck without wheels and tires. I have no problem keeping them. Posted via Mobile Device

The bed's looking good! I'd say keep the wheels for the stepper/fleet. Can't wait to see pics of the whole truck all put together!
