I agree. My dad had some that looked just like them on his old truck.

The 91's bumper was a recycled aftermarket painted smoothie off of my suburban when I had it repainted.

It's not! long story, my buddy how's shop I'm using (cause it has a lift!) Son got really sick yesterday and I haven't seen my truck since Thursday nite when I left it there. I'm hoping first of the week now but i really don't know. I just hope his son is ok I haven't heard a word today.

I've been wanting to loose the scoops but the paint is messed up under them so I'll rock them till I get it painted and just to bug you!

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

My Z71, only changes from when I got it are the wheels, window tint, the red vinyl placed over the chrome on the body moldings and removed the chrome trim around fenders. Flowmaster exhaust. Window visors. Removed the silver pinstripe.

Future plans are to lift it about 3", add some wheels and slightly larger tires and to have the bumpers and mirrors color matched. Also thinking of adding color keyed fender flares. Black bull bar and black nerf bars. And oh yes, replace those dang headlights and turn signal lights... They are like having a gallon of milk in front of my lights.

Hope the pic works...
Thanks,
RdS

I like the truck a lot, and am very curious to know more about how you did this --

My guess would be very carefully. It looks very good. I just painted the chrome strips black on my '94. I'll probably do the same on my Suburban if I can get off my lazy butt.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

Thanks. Yes, Very Carefully. I went to a local pinstriper and got some 3/4 or 1" vinyl that matched the color and put it on the chrome strip and trimmed any place that needed it. Trimmed the ends at an angle to match the tapered ends. I done that about 5-6 years ago.

When you get into the complex curves and shapes, it turns into a real pain in the butt. I had some eyelids cut for my CTS headlights out of vinyl. Man, I was ready to pull my hair out even with that little job. I would not do good if I had to deal with that stuff everyday.
