Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

I've used Lokar stuff on a bunch of vehicles. I have their parking brake system on my '79 CJ-5/Currie 9" w/ the Explorer style rear disc/drum set up, and their stuff worked perfectly with that system. Great quality and pretty good prices.

And, Dennis, your truck is lookin' absolutely bad a$$!!!

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

well, i got the firewall drilled, grommet installed, and the harness and ecm in the cab turned out AWESOME! i'll post some pics here in a few days.

i also ordered raammat bxt and bxtII(like dynomat but supposedly better) also ordered (and got today) the lokar shift linkage. also ordered a ragless steering shaft, and the autometer ultra lite II gauges to mount behind the bezel

Billy also donated his clean a/c-heater box too! i have alot more stuff to order but atleast some stuff is coming in. and as always...... still waiting on the painter

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

Isn't the ragless steering shaft going to make for lots of vibration and road "feel"?

no rag joint (almost like a rubber bushing) between the column and steering gear box.

i dont know buddy. we will all find out together here in a few months i'm going to buy Billys acr steering gear box with a quick ratio also. i'm just trying to get rid of any slop or vagueness in the steering.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

put a power rack and pinion in! My plan is to add it to mine...with the stock crossmember. It will just be all about the mounts..drilling the stock front crossmember and possible welding some small pieces of pipe...then piecing together the steering shaft and tie rod ends should be easy.

thats the way I want to go too, though with a different style IFS...you know Nate doesn't provide the rack anyway right? Use the same one that you'll use with his kit!
