Last weekend.......

Split motor and trains.

Useful tool...... Keeping things together.

Yup.... Four bolt.

Camel hump heads, missing most valve stem seals, one valve damaged and a spring broken.

Still trying to figure which parts to replace, or just how much new stuff to add.

Needs a clean and paint as well.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

Well, the VHT Chevy orange engine paint went on without a hitch.

Good preparation, cleaning three times over and some head in the steel meant good adhesion.

Rattle cans work well if you,are patient and keep the distance equal on every pass.

Result, three coats on flat surfaces, more on the bends.

Masked up and cleaned block painted too.

Very pleased with the results of today's work.

Almost 01.00 now, so bed time I would think.

Final pic just for Greg "Bomp" in Kaiser, Oregon........... There you go my young friend.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

I made room in the garage so I could remove the windshield and change the gasket. It had a split at the bottom and water would come into the cab when driving in the rain. Here they are a nestled in.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

First picture shows how the old owner used roofing tar to patch a hole or something. When it rained the water would come in and spill on the dash and the floor. Surprised there isn't more rust. You can also see the split at the bottom. The gasket also melted back into petroleum form which also melted onto the dash and I think it protected it from the water and it was rust free so I had to clean all that up and after doing so I sanded some of the surface rust off and coated it with Duplicolor Truck Bed liner.

I also took my automatic steering column apart and repainted it. Don't know if I will stick with the color or not.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

I took my wheel off to adjust my front brakes and after about 5 blocks of driving it is pulling right again.
Time for disc.
