Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....
I just thought I'd let everyone know that McMurphy is alive and well. We hung out at the local car show today for a couple hours and then he came by the shop so we could tighten his alternator belt for his trip home.
He still doesn't have internet service at their property, so it's no tellin when he'll be back on the forum.

I cannot imagine lack of Internet slowing him down on builds and art. It may even be a good thing not getting distracted. Send him my regards when you connect again.

The squeal was a vacuum leak, had to tighten my intake manifold down. Where I thought it was the fuel line, was right above the intake so when I did the starter fluid trick, any that got past the fuel line would cause the engine to rev. All fixed now and running like a champ (and quietly) again !!! Thanks again Capt. It is good to have friends.

Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....
It was great to meet you at Clems. It was very cool to talk with everyone there about the same stuff we all have a passion for. Maybe next year we can drive our trucks.

Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....
Hey guys !!
Nothing new on the Apache Custom SS I am sorry to say. Still needs front glass, exhaust, and alignment up front.... right now it is standing in the tall grass working on its patina. Heeheheheh Only thing I have done with it since arrival is show it off to friends and family, keep starting it once every couple weeks, and moving it from spot to spot as we work on the property. soon my pretty, soon..... Hey CapFab, was incredible hanging out with you again at Car d'Alene and thanks again for the assist with the fan belt. The squeal is a vacuum leak in the fuel line....a couple squirts of starter fluid confirmed this incredible oddity. I guess when Edlebrock wrote their carbs were designed to work with stock fuel pumps, they were NOT talking about straight 6 engines...... Am visiting the wife in Tacoma right now on the other side of the state.... will post some pics of property in the next couple days I am here. with internet....
