I took off spring break and ended up working about 60 hours on the body panels. I've got them ready to shoot paint. Weather turned cold and windy so I won't be shooting any paint for a while.
I'm thinking about moving the project to a professional paint booth to shoot the paint. I don't want to end up with a bunch of dust or dirt. I have most of it taped off and ready but I can re do all that. Red pictures this week hopefully.

Borrowed my wife's new camera, it works way better than my phone or old digital camera.

The weather this year has been crazy. I'm tired of this warm to cold to warm to cold crap. Hopefully it'll warm up enough for you soon so we can see some paint pics

Coming out slick! Is it feasible to go to Kyle's? I can attest that a booth/mixing room can make it a lot nicer, but you gotta run knowing you gotta be out of the way before Monday. We were 48 hours, off trailer to on trailer. 2 big loads in the booth and bedliner. Good luck, supposed to be nice this weekend!

Booths sure help on the dust and dirt also with the over spray issues. It is really close now.

On a side note, do you have any regrets on the liner you used for the bed? I'm just curious if their kits have some left over after you're done spraying it, or are they just barely have enough material to do the panels? I'm trying to decide what to get/do after I got my $1400 quote from a local line-x'r.

Did you do all your body work in your garage too? I know your garage was fairly new too. (I'm not knocking your work or anything because your truck turned out really nice) It just seems so hard to clean a well used garage or shop to be dust free and then get a good fire proof suction system going. I've used box fans before but man it makes me pretty dang nervous. The next thing I paint in my shop I'm going to try one of those plastic paint booths out. Just to try and minimize the dirt and dust falling from the ceiling and stuff.

I'm with you, this is the longest coldest winter we have had in years. All the lakes are about 3 weeks behind in water temp. Makes for really slow fishing.

Thanks, I tried to capture how straight the panels came out. It's all 100% GM sheet metal and it all needed love.

Thanks and yes the plan is to take it to Kyle's shop. He has super nice paint booth.

Thanks Ryan, Yes it will be much cleaner to paint in a booth. My shop has had 2+ years of bodywork in it. Not to mention near 10 years of dust and dirt. I cleaned it really good when I shot the inside panels but there was still a lot of contamination. That won't work for the outside. Not after all my hard labor getting it body worked. I really want to minimize things to go wrong.
On the bedliner, I really like the Raptor. I'm not planning on doing any hauling in my truck other than an ice chest so I don't need it to be rugged.
It sprays easy and covers well. I think you could easily do a full short bed with walls and tailgate with one kit. (approx. $120 on ebay). If you're doing the tailgate and want it really thick it may take like two more bottles +hardener. Also, I'm not sure how good the UV protection is on the tinted product like I used on the floor? It can tend to fade from what I have heard. My truck will be garage kept so little sunlight may help. I researched the product quite a bit before I chose it. The Jeep guys love it and some have been running it over 5 years.

I've painted in dirt floor barns and had pretty good luck. If I have to I will paint it in my shop. But I am going to try avoid it if possible.
