Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Nope, I bent the edge over so if it ever did hit it would only be rubbing on a curved sheetmetal surface. And I put the hose clamp strategically so the clamp would actually hit first.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
I finished up the sensor mounting today and here are the pics.
I still need to weld the shock mounts to the axle tubes, install the e-brake cables, rotors, and calipers. All that can be done from underneath, so I may try to throw the bed on soon. Where's Igor and his buddies???

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Just a little sumpin sumpin.
This is just with a battery sitting on the ground so I can troubleshoot it before I get too far. My rear air lines are crossed for one thing, but hey, 2 days ago I had no suspension.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
I have spent a lot of time looking and measuring for my shocks and have just ordered them from the 12 page Monroe spec sheet on all the shocks they make. I was able to get very specific in regards to collapsed and extended lengths, internal bump stop on extension, and end mount type.
The front Ridetech Coolride system that I installed is made for maximum drop and comes with a super short shock. I will need a longer shock and I am going to have to take out the air bag and mount and completely rebuild it 2 inches taller so the air spring rides at it's correct air pressure and height for my driving stance. The air bag mount is a 6 inch diameter tube with a plate on the bottom and an allthread rod to snug it up into the spring pocket. I had a feeling this was the case and had already contacted Ridetech for a 2 foot section of the 6 inch tube they use. 1 step forward, 2 steps back, but its got to be right.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Nice!!!! Seems to have a decent amount of travel. Not as much as I've seen on some but probably plenty for a smooth ride and you're not laid out like some guys who have to raise it 6-7" just to be able to turn their tires

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Is it me or is that hose laying on a sharp edge? I can't tell what that is, but it just looks like it might not last. Other then that, this thing is looking sharp!

someone else already asked the same thing, if you look close you can see he has rolled the edge over

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Yep, it hits the metal hose clamp first if it vibrates into each other.
I may add a split piece of hose to the metal lip too.

Drew, it's looking great! The air suspension looks and sounds great. I also think you should be fine on the amount of travel you have.

I think it will be good too, I have 5.5 inches of travel both front and rear.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
I picked up my lengthened and newly balanced driveshaft today
New lower shock mounts that I will need to weld to the bottom of the axle according to the length of my shocks to use them as limiting straps. This is possible with these shocks because they have internal bumpstops and are made specifically for limiting axle travel. If you don't have this type shock and go over a speed bump or RR tracks fast and unload the suspension you will blow the seals and shock is ruined. If you have shocks without the internal bumpstop you have to install limiting straps made of nylon webbing- not fooling with that.
