Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

Man that all sounds great. Except the rain. I wish I was there to go for a ride in it to see how it rides and handles. Any chance of posting a video? It would be awesome to see it in motion.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

Here is a picture of the exhaust from yesterday. Dad and I have fixed the rockers where the rain drops got into the clear .. it looks a lot better. We sanded the clear back off with 1000 grit, super slick and re-based / clear. Then 3000 grit to purposely knock the shine off of it and I hand rubbed the clear with rubbing compound .. just to add some age to it. It now looks like the rest of the paint on the truck. Im confident to say someone who didnt know the rockers had been painted recently wouldn't ever see it.

The exhaust comes right off the head pipe then over to the outside of the rail. the bends in the intermediate pipe follow the contour under the cab then the Magnaflows sit in the little pocket right behind the cab / in front of the rear tire.. then over the axle and down. Standing beside the truck you cannot see the exhaust anywhere. If the bed floor was moved you could lay frame with this setup. .. that extra rod off the hanger has been cut off

We're putting the interior back together now but it is raining here today. I can't really get it out for pictures.

.. almost finished!

I love the undercarriage shots with wooden beds.. Something about all the clean metal and wood.. With the light coming through the cracks between the boards, its like looking up into heaven The GMC God is shining down at us

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

The show is at the Chattanooga Auto Auction so maybe there will be some people there looking to buy. They had an auction yesterday, and today. Tomorrow is just a show and swap meet but.. maybe I'll need a ride home.

We'll see what happens I guess.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

Here is a video from today. It kinda hs more of a cracking sound in the exhaust in the video (maybe the garage echo?) Its not this loud in person.. but it definitely has a crisp throttle response. The Magnaflows are relatively quiet till you step on the go pedal.

I couldn't get the playback working on my PC (Windows 8) so I quoted it .. if you copy and paste what's between the quotes it will link you to it.. I'll figure out what's up with it. .. hang on
