Where can one find that rear stainless piece. How does it tie in with the sail? Looks great, just what I need to separate the two tone.

After over 2 years we uncrated the 427. We are waiting for a few parts and hopefully will install the engine and tranny next week.

Wow! That's not a truck, it's a ROCKET SHIP!

My humble inline 6 230 was installed last Wednesday and Thursday. Been so excited driving it I forgot to post the progress.

Looking good! There's still a part of me that wishes I'd kept mine stock.
I love them both ways.

Life will be perfect when I can drive it. It's been a dream of mine for over 40 years. It's been a 5-1/2 year project and when completed I'll have about 3 times more money in it than I did my house when I bought it many years ago.
But still less than a new truck of today, and this one won't depreciate!
Now if I count my time, that's a different story.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

after rebuilding the motor this weekend......

Goof off is perfectly fine, you have already sweated the big stuff and earned your break.

Today I worked in North and West London with a colleague, so when we called it a day by 3.45, I hit the road a cross North London to Real Steel, purveyors of all things American.
I had a short shopping list for Paul Y and mate Martin and needed to be back in Kent at Ebbsfleet International station to pick up Nicola and Hannah who had been on a 4 day city break in Cologne, Germany by 6.45

I decided after looking at my water pump, which worked perfectly, that I would replace it with a new one while the motor was in bits, at £39.00 for the pump it made sense.

I also bought a new transmission oil filter and gasket as the gearbox is getting a shift kit fitted when I do the filter.
Anyone with tips, advice or experience of fitting them..... Now is your chance.
Please tell me all you know.

I thought the pump really is rather good looking.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

well..I've put the new rebuilt axle back on.
the new wheels are on... still not sure if to leave the caps on or off. I think no hub caps suits the truck better.
dont think the chrome rings look any good because they got lost as the rims are white, would probably suit it better if I had other rims colour or/and chrome bumpers.

on another news, ****ty news, I found one engine mount is broken and the other one is cracked. great!! who knows, maybe this was what caused all the shaking on the truck and not the axle, but anyway the axle was on its way, so glad I caught that in time.
Need to get under the truck and check the engine mounts, see if there's any markings or serial numbers on it as this is an 69 Buick GS 350 engine in a 65 C10 Chevy truck... great, its one thing after the other hahaha

anyway..some photos!...we all like photos!

Congratulations! I bet that was a great feeling. Some may think that is a long time. But time sure does fly. I took my 1965 apart almost 6 years ago.
I wonder some days if I'll ever drive it again. Enjoy it!
