I got a new cart to play with. Member here wants me to wire it up for him.
Can't wait to get it home sitting beside mine and see how they look together.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I snapped a shot of this. My beautiful daughter sent me this cigarette lighter. I guess she knows her old mans taste... Morbid.

My fingers look fat in that pic. And they aren't. I'm really skinny.Which is odd because my family is a bit on the chubby side. But I've always been skinny as a rail. I can't gain weight.

I feel you, I’ve worn the same size jeans (30x30) since I was a freshman in high school (working on 33 now) 5-9 @ 150-160 lbs for about that last 10 years. Don’t matter what or how much I eat... presently I’m watching tv in bed eating straight from a 1/2 gallon or Breyers mint chocolate chip.

Yum yum. Thin Mints. I love those and Samoa's the best. Heck I like them all.
I've bought cases of them myself. Never put on a pound. Maybe a couple of pounds but I needed to. When my weight dipped into the 120's my doctor told me to gain weight. I looked like I was in a concentration camp. It must be my metabolism. My body burns off weight faster than I can eat.

Thanks. It is a Factory Five. Took a long time to build as I was travelling a lot for work during the build time.

I bought the Factory Five assembly manual when I retired in 1998 and still have it, it was $50 at that time.. This came into the mix and won out.....

I'm not sure if the assembly manual is even usable now.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

I was looking at the Factory Five car kits. One thing that helped tip the scales to new floors was that California will only allow 500 kits a year to be registered new. I think I got that right. So, if you didn't get yours registered the first day that the DMV is open in a new year, you have to wait. I was working in Florida at the time, maybe I could have registered it there and then brought it into the state, but that may have not worked either.

That surprises me. The more cars that are registered the more registration dollars the state makes.

And we all know how much California likes to take more money.

That's a beautiful Skyliner Leon. Maybe you can answer a question for me. It might be an old wives tale but I've heard that if the roof on a Skyliner gets stuck when it's down position that you cant get to the mechanism to get it to go back up because it's stuck under the roof.

It's like that on my Porsche. If the battery goes dead. The battery is under the front hood or trunk or whatever you want to call it. It's controlled by an electronic switch to open it. No battery=no switch. And no backup. (ask me how I know) I had to hook a battery charger to the fuse box to pop the trunk to get to the battery. It's a terrible design.

One would think that the state would want the revenue. But maybe some of them are using pre-SMOG engines. I know that I planned to put in a 260 or 289 from an early vintage Ford solely for the purpose of only being required to have a closed crankcase (well, that, and not having a biennial inspection).

Nice! What year is that? We have a 1988 "Limited" but it doesn't have the fake wood siding. I'm assuming that one also has the 242 transfer case with the "full time" option. It works great. Even with three open differentials it goes through just about anything and everything. The Jeep suspension keeps the weight equally on all four wheels on anything resembling a road.

You just have to get used to funny noises and leaks

It depends on what the problem is. When I first got it the roof wouldn't raise and I figured out that one of the solenoids was bad. Luckily all you have to do is remove the back of the rear seat cushion and all of the solenoids are located in a metal box there. I just used a heavy jumper wire and shorted across to the top circuit and raised it. If the deck lid won't release there are access holes under the trunk pan and you can insert a socket on a long extension and unscrew the locking mechanisms on it. I had a wire get pinched under the passengers side, top lift arm, and it was a pain to get fixed. Not much room to work when the top is nested into the trunk.

The '57 Skyliner top has seven reversible electric motors, four lift jacks, a series of relays, ten limit switches, ten solenoids, four locking mechanisms for the roof and two locking mechanisms for the trunk lid, and a total of 610 ft of wiring.

I have always been able to get the problems taken care of without using any destructive means....

Dont know how many times the roof on the 60 Thunderbird we have got stuck half way . Trunk open roof halfway down . Have to play with the relays and limit switches jumping things to get it up or all the way down . Most times it's because the battery is low been meaning to change out the generator to an alternator .Someone makes a printed circuit board but its pricey .
