Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Started fabricating the exhaust system. 2 1/4" OD out of the manifold to a Stainless Dynomax muffler the sales rep left behind.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Pulled out all the bed wood, was Pine that was faded out. Was going to replace it with Oak that I have that is rough sawn, after I cut to size and plane, stain and coat with lots of varnish, but also have a nice supply of Eastern Red Cedar that has been drying for a year.......so trying to decide if the cedar would look good in it. Tomorrows plan is to clean all the exposed frame and rear end, prime and paint.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

busy today, put in a new choke cable, think I might have run all summer with the choke partially closed, because it was all jammed up.

fixed a broken lever on the heater, and put in a working heater switch.
(this was easier said than done!)

pulled the kickpanel vents, and vaccumed out the air box, a critter had taken up residence there years ago I guess, full of pine cones and pine needles.

replaced the pionts, cap , rotor, and condenser. the cap and rotor were so corroded I am not sure how it even ran.

this was all on my 65 dd

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Got a call from the powdercoater telling me my rallye wheels are ready. I am glad that I'm getting closer to taking off the current ones. Now I can start working on new tire sizes. The manager at the local Tire Max says to bring my truck in and he will mount tires and put them on the truck until I find the size that gives me the stance I want. That is sweet. come to find out he has a 63 shortbed and a bagged and body dropped 46.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Got my firewall filled and ready for body filler, next is the drip rail. Previous body work left much to be desired, a portion of rail on pass side back corner is all bondo.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Fabricated some caster support brackets for my stepside bed. This allows positioning the bed without using my engine hoist.

Makes moving it in and out of my work bay much easier.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I took the day off to work on my truck. I ended up building a table with wheels so I can place the cab a little higher. Without a lift it was tough when your by yourself. But I did it and now Im home again with 2 torn discs I should have known better.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Now that the bed is off, I cleaned, scraped the exposed frame, pulled the rear tires off and repainted the frame area. Going to start cutting the wood for the bed floor tomorrow and dry fitting it before drilling all the required holes. Then stain followed by multiple coats of marine varnish.
