Thanks, I sure like these old trucks, working on the door latches installing the bear claw style latches, making the linkages.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
Here is the better side. I can't wait to drive this truck. Also working on the fuel injection for this truck, using 1990 gmc van tbi system, building harness, fuel lines, should work real good, better than the old carburetor way.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
The rims are from a 71 Chevrolet Chevelle SS that I had years ago. I put them on to see how they look., I'm kinda liking them now.

Nice, I have the same wheels on my 49, for now. Minus the trim rings of course. Thowse are 70-73 Camaro and Chevelle ralley wheels.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
The Yellow Bar is my floor jack handle. A while ago I posted on youtube couple of short videos of the truck. Search for: 53 chevy pickup 001 build and the other one: 53 chevy pickup 002 build 283 running. Power steering was pretty easy to install I purchased the kit from Classic parts, the steering column is the stock one cut down and machined a double d end for the steering joint. here are some photos of the power steering install. I cut off the lower steering arm with a hack saw (the black painted one).

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
I like those trucks. Any old pickup is cool. The top photo is the day I bought it 12/24/79. The bottom one was early summer of 1980 when I got it running. I was 18 then.

I'm going post as many photos as I can. Here are the past from the mid 1980's of my collection. Only now I own the 53 chevy pickup.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
That is a beautiful truck!!! I love the colour, with the matching wheels!
The patina and stance are awesome! The wheels you are linking to appear to be new Weld's. |

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
The COE in the quoted post isn't a "47-59" at least I'm pretty sure it isn't. There WERE 47.1's that were Art Deco trucks before they switched to the Advanced Design in '47.2. But I don't know when the COE's switched over.
But since it has already been posted here I'll throw in a COE that I just love. Especially the color. If I'd have kept my '46 I'd have definitely done it in the same color. Sure wish I knew what the color name is and if it was a stock Art Deco truck color from the factory? Enjoy!
