Let me know if you need some pointers. I would be happy to share the little I know.

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build

Thanks guys I appreciate all your comments on the color. I was a little nervous about the green. I'm usually way more conservative when it comes to colors but I thought the truck needed a color that popped a bit more than something I would normally chose. Once I shot the interior I became way more confident in the color choice and actually love it now.

Man, I'm gone a day and you paint your truck.

Bam, that just looks flat FANTASTIC! I don't know WHY I should be surprised though. You just won't settle for anything less. Huge congratulations. The Belair dash and the filled interior seams just make the whole thing even more fantastic.

How far away is exterior paint? I can't imagine very long or you wouldn't have risked exposing that interior to dust and overspray, etc.

Best, and a happy belated Easter to you and all the "buddies" here, Dan

Yeah I'm really digging that I finally shot some panels even if its only the interior. You don't know how great it felt to see anything other than primer.lol

Thanks Dan,

I'm not that far away from painting the exterior but I want to mock up the fenders and doors one last time. But exterior is blocked out and ready for a sealer. As soon as I have some time I will do the final mock up. I think my head will explode once I'm able to lay some pain on the exterior I'm going to be some happy.lol

Absolutely love the color, I'll be doing a back yard job too but I'm nervous cause there isn't a lick of concrete..it's all dirt or should I say natural landscape. Well done Mr. Bam!!

Try large plywood and lay a tarp over them and park the truck on top of that. Get one of the huge HF canopy and make your walls with 6 mil plastic. They sell zippers that you can attach to the plastic for a door that you can close. They are call zipwalls. Get and exhaust fan to help pull the fumes out and put a cheap homedepot filter on one it. Hose the whole backyard down really good to keep the dust down and hopefully the plywood covered with a tarp will keep the area near the vehicle wet but not muddy.

I have a hobby air system if you don't have, can't afford, or don't want one please get a really good respirator because it contains dangerous chemical and fumes so be careful. Get one approved for auto paint. I only use my hobby air for big jobs. I wear a nice tight fitting respirator for small jobs. Such as when I shot the interior.

No problem buddy and did not mean to insinuate that you do not know whats up but others are reading this and I don't want anybody to do something that could cause them health issues.

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build

Bam's gonna have to establish a 976 number to charge all us guys. Hey, that's not a bad idea. It'd probably pay for his truck!

Lieutenant Bam once again you have killed it. I remember a few years ago when you got the color you were not sure. Not only are you sure now, but I see you getting a trophy at the Brothers Show.
Just make sure you include all of us in the photo for giving you support.

That seriously is a cool color bro.

Thanks man I really appreciate it , but you know me way better than that. The only award I care to win is being satisfied with the build. Getting a trophy is no reason to build a car in my opinion. Its the love of the hobby brotha, but you know that about me.

Oh yeah and you know I thank each and every member who fellow this thread, comments or not for the support. You guys keep me motivated.

Now run Forrest.

How are you man? I have not talked to you in a while and how is your build coming along?

Very true, I just meant when it does make it there, you will be in the running.
My build, well the green truck, still trying to figure out the cab situation.
Black truck is still on the drawing board.

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build

Ok,all trouble making aside, I have a question for you, what type of paint do you use? I am looking at colors and paints as well and I like single stage for the color quality but two stage for the flakes you can add in plus if its two tone I can sand and clear to smooth. So whats your opinion on this stuff?
