Re: 72 Cheyenne Super First Project

Little more progress today. Got my headers in and there were some issues with clearance so I had to take out the motor mounts and cut out the spots that touched and make little channels to fit the headers. I am gonna get the motor mounts re-powder coated when I get the hood hinges and latch coated. Also the track bar and bracket are at the nickel plater along with the U bolts, master cylinder cover, and a few other small things. Making progress slowly but surely

Last few, you can kinda get the idea. Sorry for the blurry pictures, stupid camera doesn't know what to focus on. I'll take some better ones tomorrow

This is a great project! You have came a really long ways in a very short time frame. It will look better than a new truck when you're done. Subscribed.

It should be close on a few but I'm not sure. I don't have plug wires yet so I can't tell. And thanks for the kind words. All this time at home, I've gotten most of the work done that I can do so I'm almost at a stand still until I can save up some more money. I think the last thing on the list is run the fuel lines and figure out the center link.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super First Project

Looks like a couple are gonna be close...I'm sure your Dad will help ya but probably add some heat shield/ sheathing to those plugs....also, if you haven't already, maybe add a little anti-seize to those header bolts and spark plugs

Thanks guys. I'm just waiting on the stuff for the track bar to come back from the plater and I can put that together. My radiator should be here before the end of the week and then I can get goin on that. I'm really excited to show everyone this radiator. My dad helps out this company called Fluidyne by selling radiators for Late Model race cars for them so they completely gave me this all aluminum custom radiator for free. It's gonna look sharp

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super First Project

Great work! Do you still need a cap for your steering box? I've got one I think. Nice score on the radiator. I have a fluidyne in my Vette and it works awesome!

Thanks, yea I do still need a cap for the steering box. That would be awesome if you had an extra one that we could figure something out on. And I'm pretty excited about the radiator. I should be getting it hopefully later this week or the beginning of next week. I figured if they work well for a race car they gotta be alright for a street car

Hahaha, thanks for noticing. It's basically a race version of a Ford 9 inch. They run them in Nationwide cars and busch east. You can get a nice one around these parts for a couple hundred without hubs, axles, or a gear.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super First Project

Great looking parts! Do you know if the 73-87 steering boxes are the same? I couldn't find one I had laying around for sure that came off a 68-72. But I have a few 73 ups. If they're the same, I can send you one.

I'm not 100% sure but it looks like it's the same box. Anyone else wanna throw in their 2 cents? If you want we can figure out a deal on it and if it doesn't fit I can send it back?
