Re: Facebook Marketplace finds
I would be all over that green over green super
Before it was cut. I like original trucks. But As time goes on, and there are less and less trucks left I also appreciate the skills these guys have At cutting them down Don’t crucify me but I just had one done But ended up selling back to my buddy who does the work Sad as it is C20 long beds are worth 1/4 to 1/2 Of The same truck made into a c10 Shortbed Last edited by Chevyland; 07-08-2020 at 10:38 PM. |

well look on the bright side, the more trucks they butcher, the more valuable the remaining trucks get

Re: Facebook Marketplace finds
I was a shortbed guy. But, I use my truck for a truck and enjoy the extra space.

Re: Facebook Marketplace finds
I remember when I first got into these trucks no one wanted a 3/4 ton 4x4. They had to be 1/2 tons or they turned their nose up at them. Boy how times have changed

Re: Facebook Marketplace finds
I get it. You must be talking about the money. Because as a truck the shortbed is worth 1/4 to 1/2 as much as a C/20. I see cutting down a "longbed" and cutting down a C/20 as two completely different matters. Cut a longbed C/10 down to short and now you made the truck fit the GVW better, IMO. Cut a C/20 down and you ruined a truck

Re: Facebook Marketplace finds
I agree with K.
I would pay the money they are asking for a cut down C10, or C20 truck. Its originality is ruined at that point. But I may know of someone who would, hint hint..... I would be a tough sell in the future. Look at all the bogus early Z28's out there. They may get a couple of bucks more for them, but what about their future? Is this not why we do this? Well any way to each his own. 20 years from now an unmolested restoration is most likely going to pull more dollars. |

Re: Facebook Marketplace finds
Picked up this front clip this morning. All three of these trucks came from Facebook Marketplace in the last three months. All K20's ranging from $1000 to $4000 in cost.

I have no need for 4WD, but that Orange stepside is beyond cool.

I’m with Steeveedee. For some reason I’m that red 4x4 stepper really trips my trigger. Love it

Re: Facebook Marketplace finds
All that truck needs is clearance lights and I'd browbeat my wife into letting me buy it, if it were available. But you'd see me either in prison or the grave for the want.. I've seen a couple like it recently, and I am sad that I can't have them. Maybe I'll win the lotto tomorrow...wait, I forgot to buy tickets!

Thanks The truck has some interesting history and how I was able to buy it. I saw it on a Facebook group where a guy posted a picture of it saying " Had this truck for ten years and don't know what I want to do with it" I posted back that I thought it was a really neat truck and if you are ever interested in selling please let me know. About ten minutes later he PM'd me and said he would like to discuss selling the truck. We struck a deal and I went up to the California Oregon border to pick it up. At some point the truck hit a boulder or something and bent the tie rod and sheared a gear or so in the steering box so it would only turn right. Once I got it in the shop I removed the tie rod and steering box and replaced with one off another 67 4x4 I have. Truck came from factory with 17" split rims which is listed on the SPID. Anyways don't see many 3/4 ton long bed stepside trucks so this one will probably be a keeper. Here are a few more picts, drivers side fender was smashed in so I removed it and heated it up and did a bunch of metal shaping, one of the interior also.

Man that's in great shape. That's high desert up there, as dry as it gets anywhere. What a cool truck.
