Re: 1964 GMC 1500 "crustine" semi- build.

Hey guys!!! Well there's been a change of plans. I was going to modify a 305 intake for a 4 barrel, but decided to be lazy and find a Magnum manifold. These require no welding and are Much easier to open up. Enclosed are some pictures...305 manifold on the left and 351M or larger manifold on the right. Notice the difference in port size between the 305 intake and the magnum intake. lol Getting excited!

Lookin' good TJ! Love the truck.

I was searching through YouTube yesterday when I stumbled on to your page. I actually didn't know it was you at first, but I recognized the profile pic.

That 572 needs to go in Crustine... lol

Re: 1964 GMC 1500 "crustine" semi- build.

Started doing some mods!

Ground down the flange and them purchased a block of aluminum. Buddy of mine has a mill so we'll be milling out the manifold and the block. Super excited! Later guys!

Re: 1964 GMC 1500 "crustine" semi- build.

Well Saturday after work was very eventful.

Took the manifold and plate to a buddies house and we milled it all out to almost perfection.

Pictures show the milled manifold, adapter, and the carb's new resting place. Super excited!!!

Re: 1964 GMC 1500 "crustine" semi- build.

And here is a comparison of the 3 manifolds.

Stock, 4 down to 2 adapter, and the true manifold.

Surprised at how clean the plugs were to. All that fuel and limited air and burning nice an clean with stock points and a hot coil. lol! Really hoping the extra air will help. It should. Later guys! More updates to come!

so,let me see if i understand, when you got the truck it already had the magnum
engine swaped in for the orginal 305 E, then you had the intake milled down for the adatper plate so a 4 bbl could be fitted.??

Nope, The engine had the original 305E swapped for a later model 305E. I bought the magnum intake off of a guy with a 351E and modified it and put it on my 305E.

The 351M was available in 2500's and up I believe. Then the larger engines like the 401 and 478 would be available in the 4500 and up. Here's a link to the 6066 GMC site...Lot's of info there!
