Re: 61K10 build
I vote to leave the aluminum bare. Paint just hinders the heat transfer efficiency, and it already looks so nice!
I've realized its okay to have a few shiny parts on an otherwise all painted pickup!

Re: 61K10 build
I've been running one of those radiators since 2009 with no issues. Great radiators.

Re: 61K10 build
1963-c10--could not go wrong for the price. on e-bay there are a bunch of rad's from $150 to 350 and they look the same, and yes from china. some want to make a couple of bill's profit i guess, so beware if buying.
Jason-Randy--it's staying alum. had to get a new top hose as my old one was 1 3/4 and the new rad is 1 1/2". got everything mounted up and looks good. I had a small drip on the floor, can you believe a soft/freeze plug (should of knocked them all out and put in brass) we will see if the south of the boarder iron will rust up lol.

Re: 61K10 build
I see you have pre-wired your headlight relays, smooth move !!
The only nice thing about mine being my first ever buld of this magnatude, is that the next one will be easier as I pre-plan things like this !! It was Markb that I first saw mount the relays on the rad support there, where they would be covered by the radiator support skirts. I have since tucked the wiring for my headlight doors up in there, as it had made a rats nest in the engine bay, but in the future I will no doubt move all those relays to that location as well. Looking good, cannot wait to see more

Re: 61K10 build
Once you completely build and assemble your own vehicle, especially if you customize a lot of things, it really makes you appreciate what the auto manufacturers and their engineers do!

Re: 61K10 build
very true Jason, except the engineers don't get their hands dirty or half to lay on the concrete or dirt lol.

Re: 61K10 build
thanks again guy's. still have the freeze plug leak after changing it. did not feel any problem on the block surface where the plug fits. maybe a pin hole in the block casting. it just weeps a little bit, a few drops while setting. does not change while running. got to get my interior painted and maybe the outside also.

Re: 61K10 build
Check out this thread...starting w/post 34
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=425149&page=2 Was a 1960 and maybe a 61 option, but will work on any 60-63 as the glove box doors are the same. Picture is from 1960 Chevy literature. I can check this week and see if I have any more left. I had a couple a while back, know I sold 2 in the forums, but I know there were 1-2 somewhere else in the parts room.

That's good to hear, way the news is telling it, the whole state is blazing. lol I've just been hunting and peckin for parts (ie doors & assembly) bought two but not sure they are better than what I already have. We'll see come Sunday, time to start blasting.
