Re: T-Man's 58 Apache project
Looking good Don, I am still trying to figure out how that wiper system works? I guess I will just have to come home for a weekend and see for myself. Tyler got a bit done here also, got the bottom of the door cut and the new inner welded in.

Re: T-Man's 58 Apache project
Hey Tyler I might be coming through your area to do a job north of North Battleford - just southwest of Daysville. I am not sure of what my time line is going to be like as I have a lot of driving to do just to get to the job and then maybe a day or two on the job but if at all possible I really would like to see some of that great work you guys are doing.
I have been getting ready to do some bodywork but it scares the pants off of me. No one around here really to talk to except the one body shop in town and most of the young guys there are doing panel replacement(s) and little actual bodywork. I cant afford to let them do to much work in any case. Anyway let me know if I can make it work if you are up to a visitor - maybe on my way back south. I won't stay long. If so I can send you a private message and we can exchange phone numbers or something. It looks like my road trip will head north from Swift Current all the way to North Battleford and a little beyond. Are you guys close to that highway? Sorry I do not have my Saskatchewan highway map in front of me. At this point I do not know when but am waiting for the call saying they are ready for me - actually could be any day. 56hotrodred (Barry) |

Do you have any pictures of you shaving the lip off the firewall? That is a really cool mod. Definetly going to do this to my build.

Re: T-Man's 58 Apache project
I did find a few pictures of this mod. We did finally found out the easiest way for me was to weld the inside, then cut the lip off. If I did it again I would make sure the inside was as clean as possible. I do not think much of my welding ,but you wanted to see sohere they are.

Thanx! those pictures were very helpful and I like the way you showed the back side of your weld. Your welding looks great. Way better than mine. LOL

Re: T-Man's 58 Apache project
Those parts look awesome. The door fit looks as good as any I've seen.
I have decided to change my small soda blaster over to a sand blaster and clean all the remaining small parts I have as well as finish up around some of those hard to get to places in the hood and doors, etc... I did pm you guys and hope to come by and see your build for real. Still waiting for the call to work but expect it anytime. 56hotrodred (Barry) |

Re: T-Man's 58 Apache project
Hey I finally got the word. I am driving up to work north of North Battleford on Tuesday and will probably be there 2 or 3 days. That should put me driving back south on Friday or Saturday. I am driving up on the Alberta side crossing over at Lloydminister and back down through Saskatchewan when work is done. I hate driving back the same way! This will be a long drive - I hope the weather holds.
If I have internet in St. Wahlberg - I think that is were I am going to stay - I will let you know. If not I will try the phone numbers I was pm'd on my way back south and take my chances. If you see a red 4 door Tacoma driving into your yard with Alberta plates don't shoot I am friendly. 56hotrodred (Barry) |
