Re: Irish's 1966 LWB Fleetside

What are your plans for the exhaust? My advice is to tuck it up as high as possible for a lowered truck. I like to go through the T/A xmember. Here's what I did.

I have to watch the U.S beat England on saturday morning/afternoon. It's an Irish thing, with football (soccer). What time does the show start at?

Re: Irish's 1966 LWB Fleetside

Ok, quick update.... I have been really busy with other stuff and haven't got much done over the last week or so. I did get more of the bed sanded, but everytime I step outside, it seems to fricken rain(thx for the help with that one Kelly). The few nice days we did have, I was spending time with my daughter. I did clean up the bed supports the other day and painted them with the same semi-gloss that's on the frame. I did find another 66 that I'm thinking of buying as a daily driver/fixer. More to come on that one.......

Re: Irish's 1966 LWB Fleetside

Well, I bought the 66 in the pics above. I also found out the guy is building his own 66 as a rat rod. Needless to say, me and Kelly told him all about this forum and we hope to see him on here soon. Thanks for selling me the truck Jason. It's got the usual rust issues, but hopefully I will clean it up nice and use it as a shop truck/daily driver for the rest of the summer.

Re: Irish's 1966 LWB Fleetside

I might Mad Max it alright. Rake it, paint it and tune it. Flame-thrower optional. I'm thinking, cut the springs, fill some small rust issues, paint the grill and bumper white and paint the rest of the truck the same green colour with rattle cans. Swap out the gas tank, and tune up the motor and throw on a diff carb. I have a few floating around that might work.
