Re: Project: Turbo 250
I had the 250 already from the truck as it was the original motor to the vehicle. I am still a full time graduate DPT student with a limited budget as school is hitting me up for just over $30,000.00 per year in tuition. And I am trying to keep my build to right around the 5-6 grand total build cost. Once I buy paint It will be really close to that. The 292 is a stronger engine over all and would make more power. However, I will make plenty of power with the 250 and get a little better fuel economy.

Summit has them. I'm sure others do also. Check out ebay also. I think black would look good too.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Well the guys down at American Powertrain in Cookeville, TN hooked me up with a sweet deal on this Stage II Mean Street Clutch! Rated for 650 ft lbs of torque! Cant wait to see how she performs.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Well as it turns out the measurements I gave them didnt mesh with the clutch they gave me.... so they are sending me a new clutch with an even more aggressive pressure plate in a 10.5" clutch instead of the 11" that they thought would fit....
On a good note... The shop got cleaned!!!!!! So much easier to work in. Got the rear brakes wrapped up tonight and got a bunch of stuff painted for the engine.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Yup always better when things are clean and organized.
Wanted to ask for some more pics/info on the color of your truck. In the pics it looks the same as mine. You said Vermillion Metallic? Do you or anyone else know if it was available in 67? My wife thought I was looking at pics of my truck! Anything you or any of you other 67-72 gurus on here could tell me about it'd be a lot of help.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
As you request Raymond... some more pics... I am hoping to shoot a video of the air suspension this afternoon. Thats if the hard line cooperate. I have the rear all plumbed and everything works there now just for the front! My sister caught me by surprise on the first shot and she thought I should post it. Right now the engine is just mocked up to make sure everything is going to line up and looks like I will have to do some minor shaving and trimming....

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Yeah the setup bolted to the head is quite the weight... nearly as much as the shortblock.... but either way this motor should boot scoot and boogy once the truck is ready for her. I am so close to finishing the air ride... only two more lines to bed about 10" each, two holes to drill, and 8 flare fittings to tighten....

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Well I dont know how many of you seen the bed that ortegamotor posted up for sale but I ended up buying it to save a bunch of time on the body work end of it... heres a few photos... I am just waiting for it to get shipped here!!!! Super excited... Yet looks like another change in color for the truck... Turns out it is 2002-03 Corvette Electron Blue Metallic. I am not to keen on it having the openings for the side markers but then again my '67 had them come from the factory that way.... i guess i can always take a 71-72 side marker and poor man french them in by setting them behind the mounting tab.... any thoughts????
