Hoping to get back on the truck in a few weeks. When is your 69 heading to the paint booth?

Yeah, I need to get back on mine as well. I haven't really done anything to it lately. Paint booth.........what a novel concept.

Re: Greg65 build thread

Last saturday I went and picked up this parts cab from Alan for the outer roof panel. The one on my cab looks like twenty miles of bad road. As always enjoyed talking trucks with Alan.

Re: Greg65 build thread

And here are pictures after I removed the panel. I used a spot weld cutting drill bit that I bought off of the tool truck. After a couple of hours and not a whole lot of progress I went to harbor freight a bought a different style of spot weld cutter. These things work great. The first bit was $20 and the second was $4.99.

Hey Greg, good to see you making more progress and those cutters from Harbor Freight are great. I used them on my whole cab and they last a pretty long time.

Hey Kevin it has been a while. I hope married life is treating you well. I remembered you using them and knew they had to work better than the first bit. Any progress on your truck?

Re: Greg65 build thread

Last night I drilled out all the spot welds on my roof panel. I was uncertain of what I would find when I removed the panel but to my surprise the bedding was minimal. When I bought my cab it was sitting in a chicken house. Tonight i'll start grinding down the spot welds and get ready to weld the replacement panel in place. Try to post pictures in later.

Re: Greg65 build thread

I got the driver's side inner fender, inner fender cup, and wiper linkage sandblasted and primered today. Still waiting to get done with the grille mounting panel. Not sure if I can get it done over the weekend or not. I work one Saturday a month and it comes around way to fast. Next on the list is finding a good drivers side door. It felt good make a little head way for a change.

Hey Ed,

I put a tape on my '66 and the inner fender is 36 inches from firewall to radiator support.

If that helps......?
