Re: My turn for a build up post!!

The truck has been sitting, it seems endlessly, but has not been forgotten. It is in the garage, I need to go fire it up again. Awaiting funds for parts, life is getting the way of the build. I will get to it, I will, I will, I will.

Re: My turn for a build up post!!

I promise to post pics soon. I have been working on the truck. Interior is almost finished, just need to run the E-brake, and get the a/c hooked up. Got it running again after sitting for nearly two years. I changed the oil, cleaned the plugs and replaced the wires. The truck has a miss whil eits running, I am sure some of it has to do with bad gas, or fuel delivery, I have replaced the fuel filter and pump seemed to help a little. You guys think i may need to rebuild/replace the carb? I know there is an issue with the tank too, as it reads empty all the time, two years of sitting prolly rusted the sending unit solid. anyone have a part number for a replacement suburban/ blazer sending unit?
I am trying to get it ready for the upcoming KKOA leadsled Spectaculer in Salina, KS 26-29 July 2012, and would like to not have this problem anymore. I drove it the other day, for the first time in what seems like forever, I realized I really miss driving my truck.
I need some help with the missing issue its got, money is very tight. So the less expensive the better.

Re: My turn for a build up post!!

could be its just lacquer thats holding the sending unit , you could take it out and clean it up with brakecleaner
old gas makes some sort of sticky stuff (i call it lacquer ) that realy makes things like carbs and so mailfunction
you could have the carb cleaned in one of those sonic cleaningtanks , they use a warm water and soap solution so you might even be able to just dunk it in there without taking it apart and blast it dry with compressed air
