Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

Today I sent my harness and computer to get re tuned at Wait 4 Me Performance. They offer free retunes for life, just in case if you do any changes.
Tuning for smog exempt as I will not be running all the smog items, and tuning in accodance to the new cam specifications, will result in more power and better gas milelage. Overall more efficient.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

Are you able to tell, with the S&P headers, if there will be any clearance issues on the passenger side if the rubber engine mount were to be moved back 2" from where the S&P plate would normally locate them? Thanks!

I havnt tried this without using the relocator plates, keep in mind the plates also move the motor up about 1/2". You can try and ask Mark himself from S&P (479) 394-5711.

You probably already know this but depending on the year of the LS motor it will have different exhaust manifolds, Stock the ones that have the heat shroud over them will not fit on the passenger side, will need to be grinded down about 1/4"

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

these are my other projects 1981 k5 blazer with LS1, 73 chevrolet cheyenne dissasembled getting the body prepd for paint. This is the newest take on orange from the General, and it can be found on '08 Corvettes. It's called Atomic Orange (code 83), and it's a few shades lighter than the previous year's Daytona Orange (code 71). Will be dropping an LS1 on it to. The other blazers is a friends and its being choppd to make it a convertible.

Thumbs up Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

The ultimate sleeper truck!
Before you lay the paint down, you gotta go out and cruise around!
with the truck looking plain jane, & the LS lurking beneath the hood!
U could beat the brakes off of most of the cars out there! LoL

That is a really nice picture and the truck should be extremely nice when it all comes together.

Couldnt agree more with Dennis. That is one awesome looking engine. Hope you will take all the pretty stuff off before trying to set it in the chassis to avoid any damage.
