Re: '67 Short Step #2
Something you may want to consider. After you have the cab painted and before you put the bed on, you might want to sand and reclear everything (bed and cab) to smooth and blend everything together. Might be a good idea seeing that the bed was already painted and the paint has "worn" some. PM me if you want details on how to do this. Takes a little more clear and time but well worth it.

Re: '67 Short Step #2
What were the specific parts you got/are gonna get for the I-6? I might get one and do all that, to keep the I-6, but get better power like you're doing.

Re: '67 Short Step #2
I'm having the block and heads completely redone with new pistons, larger cam, valve job, head bolt bosses removed from the intake, Offenhauser intake with a Holley 390 cfm four barrel carb, clifford split headers, and a HEI ignition. After my bank account recovers from this build, I'll add a turbo and an intercooler also. Most likely that will be my winter project though.

Re: '67 Short Step #2
Thanks Don! You've helped me out alot so far. Right now I'm actually waiting for the engine compartment to dry so I can clear it. I painted a few small parts to see how they matched with 2 coats of clear and the color looks real good! Sorry no pics again. Maybe later.

The tailgate in the last two pictures is the one that came with the bed and matches the rest of it. The piece beside it is the fan shroud that I just painted. They match quite well I think! Last edited by kyull67; 06-12-2008 at 02:45 AM. |

Re: '67 Short Step #2
kyull67 glad to hear this thing is coming together; you've have to make up a lot of ground losing the first '67. We might have to try and make it up to the show in Blue Springs in a few weeks. Are you going to be able to make it to the Midwest All Truck Nat's? There's a thread about it in the Midwest Events part of the board. I think we will have several board members attending this year, so it should be a good turnout.
Can't wait to get a closer look at your truck!
