What part of California are you guys living in that you can keep a gun on a gun rack. Certainly not the part I live in.

I suppose your local laws may be different but as far as I know, an unloaded long rifle/shotgun in a gun rack with a lock is totally legal in CA. Mine has a cable that goes through the trigger guard and a lock behind the seat. The only thing I would worry about is theft and it is a reason to pull you over to make sure you're legal. I do live in a more rural area (Fallbrook) and there is an outdoor rifle range about 8 miles away in Rainbow. Burbank may not be as laid back.

If you have a DANA 44, you can get new Ring and Pinion at Precision Gear. I went from 3.92 to 3.23 does MUCH better. I replaced all the bearings on the shafts and cleaned the entire assembly.

I would, but I still tow with mine. I'm thinking about a 2 speed road ranger od or an NV4500.

I have been think of doing the same in my 62. I changed to the T5 and it is much better but I still think the rear end is holding it back. I can get 70 to 75 but its pushng it. How much better is those gears? Do you still have good take off and power? How good is it on the HWY?

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

I'm not a racer so I don't really gauge it like that, but with the 305 V-6 I needed to do it so I was not screaming at 3000 rpm at 65.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

I finished up the latest work to bring the truck up to max reliability. Complete parking brake install. Swapped handle, cable, fabbed mid cable mounts, new rear cables, installed all the pieces inside the drums. Adjusted, it works perfectly. A nice convenience and safety add on.

Rebuilt the carb. Starts instantly now, lots more acceleration power. Bumped the timing a bit, too, while I was at it.

Good to have it running well.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Finally got the engine back together with the new camshaft kit from CompCams. Nothing wild, just a replacement for the worn out one that left me stranded last month.

^installed new cam kit

SHE'S ALIVE!!! https://youtu.be/26ZDzVYPUbw
After realizing i put the dizzy in backwards again, did the same thing for the first engine start up, she fired right up. We ran her through the COMPCams break-in procedure with only one hiccup. I hadn't fully tightened the distributor after spinning it around and it walked the timing way back to where it was backfiring real bad. I tighten it back down in the right spot and ran her 25 min between 2000-3000rpm, varying ever few minutes.

Ooh! I want me one of those! Did I mention, I am female Seriously, I have not seen such a thing. Is it a factory Kleenex box? My mother has this obsession with always having tissues available, that would be just the ticket. Where did you get it?

Replaced the master cylinder after 2 years of pumping brakes.
Flushed and bleed them 2 days ago with fresh BF and then replaced MC this morning. Stops awesome now!

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

This is a quick search on eBay, where I found mind. if you have a Chevy, they have them with the proper badges, but nothing technical correct for GMC, so I found a generic one with no badging. The make a few styles, you need to look for a "swing out" type, they make a pull out type but it would mount to the underside of our dashes.

Use this search string terms "vintage 195* tissue dispenser"
