I tried to use the stock plug wires with the headers. The drivers side has plenty of clearance, but only one wire on the pass side clears. Do they make these wires with a 90 on the plug end?

You could always buy some custom wires and make your own to fit. That's how my mallory set is.

As for your question on plug wires, I found this...

The first link is to Hart Rods Suburban build. In post #412 he stated "Check out the Doug Thorley headers!!!!! Youll need to use a set of plug wires:

MSD Connector wires 8.5mm 32819 "
There may be a pic of the plug wires on the motor in a later post...didn't get that far.

if I tried to make my own, my luck I would mess up just enough to not have enough!

I purchased these wires and they are too short! apparently there are two different length wires on the vortec, depending which coil they have. I happen to have the longer wires on my motor. But I am kinda confused, because I checked the length of the truck wires at the local parts store with a stock set from a camaro, and they were the same length

I got some ss front brake hoses, but Im not sure they're installed correctly. I can't remember how the others were on there.

Got some gauges in. Theyre from www.speedwaymotors.com Omega Gauges. They are all electronic and the oil and temp gauge came with sending units. I chose to put the oil sending unit in the oil bypass chamber above the oil filter. simplist place to put it, just drill and tap for 1/8" pipe. As for the coolant temp sender, Im going to put it in the right head. There is a plug near the back of the right head, prolly get an adaptor for that.

I returned the LS1 wires and ordered the correct MSD wires for the 5.3L These wires have multi-angle boots on the spark plug end, so they can be formed to fit various applications. just plug them on then form the boot to fit where needed. there is a metal sleeve in the boot that helps to retain the form.

Looks good Tommy. I ended up putting my sending unit right at the Dizzy on my 350, but I'm probably going to move it down to the oil filter.
