Re: 66 DiBella (means of the beautiful)

Sorry I forgot my lab top is getting fixed so I had to wait till this morning to down load the pics at work. I got the hood started last night. Had to wait till the kids went to bed before I started. So I did not get that much done. I am hoping to have this mod done by the end of the weekend. First pic is what the fire wall used to look like which is poop.

Re: 66 DiBella (means of the beautiful)

I plan on trimming the panel back on the front of the hood because the way it is set up right now the sheet metal will hit the top of the core support

Re: 66 DiBella (means of the beautiful)

Thanks, Like I said I need to remove some of the she metal under the hood because it will hit the core support. I am hoping to have the sides of the hood cut and on tonight but I will have to wait and see how much time I have.

Re: 66 DiBella (means of the beautiful)

I will have around 3 inches of sheet metal running down each side of the hood. Then I will box it in. Should be cool. I have decided to run 8 stack injection on this truck so I need some room under the hood

Re: 66 DiBella (means of the beautiful)

Gotta admit, I'm really diggin the look! Can you tell us (read as: me) how this works though. I'm not familiar with this type of system, but it looks like its electronically fuel injected, but uses these stacks as an extension of the intake?

If so that's pretty cool.

Anything you're willing to share about it would be nice, I'm considering something a little different like this on top of my big block, but am just starting the search.

Re: 66 DiBella (means of the beautiful)

Correct the system has 8 individual injectors and the black tube down the middle of the system is the fuel rail. It used o2 sensors in the exhaust and a computer system called the fast ez to tune the engine. All you do is answer some quesions the computer asks you for your set up and it will self tune its self. You can also go into the computer and hook the lab top up and tune the engine yourself. Its a very cool system. Hilborn also makes a system very similar to this one but I like the way this system looks so I am going with this one.

Re: 66 DiBella (means of the beautiful)

The Inglese™ EZ-EFI® Induction Systems may look like classic Weber induction, but these technically advanced systems deliver increased performance, cold starts and drivability for your street rod, muscle car or restored classic. Additionally, they are capable of supporting engines up to 1000 hp and allow a much broader camshaft selection than a carbureted setup.

The new systems employ advanced FAST™ EZ-EFI® fuel injection and Precision-Flow™ Fuel Injectors (GM LS7-type) that are integrated into our exclusive cast aluminum 50mm IDA-style throttle bodies. The EZ-EFI® is a self learning fuel injection system that tunes itself as you drive and does not require the use of a laptop. Simply answer a few easy questions on the system’s hand-held unit. The EZ-EFI® controller will then use that information to establish the base tuning file, and then “learn” as you drive, while honing in on the optimum tune. It really is that easy. The EZ-EFI® can even be used with your existing distributor.

Re: 66 DiBella (means of the beautiful)

You could say that again. She came out in the shop the other night to hold a few nuts while I removed the bolts from the firewall. I looked at her and said now you can tell everyone you built the truck. We had a good laugh. Anyways you are right I am addicted to this hobby. It really is like a drug. I think I need to check myself in.

So its a modification of the ECU from this unit?
