Well I know the crossmember didn't come out without a fight. So I maybe went a little savage on it!
Not so huge after I filled it up with tools, junk, and two vehicles.

Re: 68' Chevy c10
Mounted the fuel line.
also temporary tank fill/vent. I want to get this motor fired up! tranny power washed, degreased twice. going to degrease one more time. Found out after having the radiator boil/press. test. it isn't worth fixing I have one more, so I'm hoping for the best.

Re: 68' Chevy c10
Started on getting the wiring installed. converting to HEI so I'll be running power from the junction block, but still have to buy a new connector for that. also changing to internally regulated alternator. (bye bye voltage regulator). Got rid of the 40+ years of splicing, and put gold plated terminal ends on all wires to the fender block.

Re: 68' Chevy c10
Just placed an order with summit for a pair of Hedman elites, mufflers, sway bar bushings, and black powder coated throttle return springs. Maybe I'll have it all by the weekend.

Re: 68' Chevy c10
John,
I am just getting back into building my truck as well and I have a little welding to do. I have a small Lincoln 120V welder. What settings do you recommend for welding sheetmetal?

Re: 68' Chevy c10
Well I'm still a novice welder, and I'm sure there are several people on here that could answer your question better. On my miller it has the power dial showing the gauge metal your welding, and I set it to the smallest gauge and speed to whatever your comfortable with. also I'm using flux core wire. hope this helps. Thanks for looking at my build thread. I'll check yours too.

Re: 68' Chevy c10
Thanks for the compliments. I was busy this weekend, painted some small parts, got the transmission in, and fired up the motor!
It sounds really good. I'll post some pics and will try to get a video on here asap. hearing the motor running has me fired up now.

Nice detail on the truck, it will be something to be proud of.
What type of paint did you use for the heater box? Looks good!

On your sm420 is there a pto port on the passenger side? also is there a sensor with two wires on the top of the casing?

Re: 68' Chevy c10
some pics of recent progress. still no video yet... Radiator installed, clutch fork boot on. I need to drill a new hole for the return spring or mount a bracket so it clears the new headers. new air cleaner. and in the process of sealing the shift hump.
