You could probably get the cab stripped inside and out for around $300. My buddy that is painting my truck used to work there. I acutally stripped the truck myself. I've probably done about 15-20 cars.

Bill - Media stripping is definitely the way to go. It's hard to beat for the speed and the ability to get in the hard to reach areas. The only thing that might be better would be chemical dipping, but I believe that's pretty pricey.

Here's a little better picture back at the shop, . Ray at the Media Stripping shop, said it would be approximately $300 to strip the inside an outside of a cab and doors. Can you get me a measurement of the trim on your truck (2nd picture where the yellow arrows are).

Looks good on the stripping. That sure looks a lot easier than my method.

Just ordered all (or most) of my body trim pieces from Mar-K!! Got a great deal and there customer service was excellent. Ask for Lynn, she was very knowledgable and eager to help. Hopefully they'll be able to help me out with a couple of custom pieces I need.

Thanks, man! Here's another good reference that Bill (Palf70step) just posted in the FAQ.

I've went this far, so we're probably going to pull it off the frame even though I swore I wasn't going to do that .

yeah I don't wanna pull mine off the frame either cause I know it'll take me that much longer to get it back together. but I do want to do the body mounts but i can't find the jegs or summit listing for the kit you showed

That's the part I don't like about pulling off the frame, I'm sure it will add a months to the project. As for the bushings, call them. It's a fairly new part that they don't list on the internet. There will be a G or an R on the end for black or red.

Re: 1969 Burb build-up (Bags, 5.3/4L60E, repaint, interior....)

thanks I'll just call them.
I really like the gas struts for the hatch that you did. For mine with the lift i have I can't get the hatch to fully upen to use the factory slider lifts.

once this thing is road worthy I have a 69 gmc 2wd burb that i want to drag home and cut it up into a 2door 69 tahoe. the body is just toast but the right cuts will get all the rust out. and make a dialy driver with a basic 350 and a 700r4.

OK, I guess I'm going to have to let the cat out of the bag before I get this completed (plus I NEED SOME HELP!!!!!). Gringo got it correct. I'm installing the truck tail lights on the Burb. Where does the help come in you ask, well, I need a left and right bedend that is in good shape with no dents (approximately the last 8 inches - top to bottom). I had 2 decent ones that are good for mock up, but I don't want to weld them in. If you have either or, let me know how much you need for them. Thanks in advance.

Rob

PS Here's a partial mock-up of the passenger side.
