Re: my radical 4x4 dually project
It has been a long time since I've posted but having a child with autism makes for very little time for my projects. Chosn 1 is now finished drivetrain wise and interior is halfway there so I have been building the deck and thought I would post a couple.

Great to see you back! Family first, the truck will be done when it's done. Love the head board!

Re: my radical 4x4 dually project
Yup, Fam first and its been a ride let me tell ya. But I have progressed lately. I'm digging the headboard too, it's prob been done before but i've never seen it yet, built it outa 3 1/2 drillstem and 5/ and 7/8 suckerrod so plenty of strength there!!!

Re: my radical 4x4 dually project
Great that you took the time to follow the profile of the cab. Things like this that really make a project. (Mind you, this whole truck really catch's the eye!). Makes mine look really ordinary!
Figure I'd like to drop by and see it in person one day.

Re: my radical 4x4 dually project
Thx Billhilly, I wanted to get some "flow" from the curvy lines of the truck to flow into the deck so I started with the headboard !

Re: my radical 4x4 dually project
Oh yeah! That looks pretty quiet! Great work.
Yeah, some time for sure. Apparently it's my kids turn next. At (nearly) 18 she is off in 22 days for a global tour (and six months college in Switzerland). First stop Van, then Calgary, then Kelowna where I used to live. Some peoples kids!!

Re: my radical 4x4 dually project
Finally getting a little bit more done on my seemingly lifetime project..........!
Drivers door is almost done, pwr windows and door latch solenoid courtesy of a 65 olds delta 88, working perfectly too!, vent window now complete and functional, window goes up and down like jack the bear!!!,(probably because there's only half the glass to move now!, way better than cranking for sure. 1" felt underlay and black auto carpet right from as high as I could go up the firewall to the back of the cab. Kick panels are done with some bronze sheeting with a little polishing. Pics won't load tonight so I'll try tomorrow. Cheers..... |
