Can someone shed some light on this??? PLEASE!!!
Yes...glasspacks.
You can add power.I`ve seen these frames take close to 1,000hp.The "A frame" is the type of suspension your truck has.Our frames are channel, not box. It`s known as a ladder-type frame.

Are you still waiting for the best and loudest answer?I see the "I keep getting tickets" thread hasn`t been started yet.

Re: How do I make the truck loud???

they are the type that has fiberglass in them Really though i doubt anyone is gonna be able to tell what brand they are anymore seeing as how most glasspacks look the same other than maybe the color that they are painted or not painted. I had glasspacks with 2 inch pipe on my 77 for a while because it was cheap but they eventually started to cackle so i went to my local muffler shop and had 2 1/2 inch duals with Force street strip chambered mufflers put on it dumping in front of the axle and it sounds very good. Its not real loud at an idle but when you open it up its much louder than what the junk glass packs were. No offense to anyone that has them but i think glasspacks are starting to be the muffler of yesterday. Or at least where i'm from. Everyone is going with chambered mufflers because you get that deep throaty roar instead of a loud cackle. Just my $.02

Drag an old hood around behind our truck. That will make your truck really loud!

Re: How do I make the truck loud???

Did you make sure the alternator is full? That'll help make it louder. The shorter the glasspacks are, the louder it'll be. Usually you can find 'em in 12's, 18's, 24's, and 30's. I have 18's on my truck with dual 2 1/4" pipes that are 45'ed behind the rear tires and it's loud enough for me. It rumbles at an idle and it really talks when I put the hammer down. If you like the sound leave it alone, that's what i'd do.

Put some turn up's that run into the cab and "floor" it until you can't smell it anymore. Then invite all your dead friends to join you with all the noise. Yeah that's cool.

Re: How do I make the truck loud???

Rumor has it that if you use the new graphite impregnated, teflon coated muffler bearings in your exhaust...it will add at least 30db of sound.

Those are indeed glass packs.

Your buddy at school needs to take a basic auto shop class. I have owned several big block powered trucks -- one that made in excess of 500 hp and 600 lb/ft of torque --- its frame was ok.

"then he said that I have to have an "A" frame"
agree 100% with this one --- i have plans to build one myself on a small plot of land i have above Manitou Springs, CO. Its gonna be awesome! Log planks outside and nothing but cedar inside -- just like a tiny ski lodge !

but alas, he probably was talking about A-arms -- don't worry about those, your truck already has them. They are what your spindles attach to.
You actually have a C cross section frame (not to be confused with a c-notch), and not a box frame (unless its a full-tilt custom)

I hope i have helped ...... just a little bit

edit: Special-K answered this 5 or 6 responses back, so i guess i just wasted about 120 words that could have been better spent dispensing words of wisdom on how to put up chicks .... and their moms.

Also, I'm almost out of blinker fluid. Where can I get a decent deal on that?

Re: How do I make the truck loud???

An A-frame would be nice with a loft. But you`d want a quiet truck up in the mountains. You don`t want your neighbors timing you from the bottom.

Re: How do I make the truck loud???

nobodys came up with self dispensing quarter sticks? self lighter, and they just drop out the back. Only problem is you gotta keep it above 50mph otherwise your gonna need new tailights...quite often because it cracks them and you lose all your blinker fluid, and apparently thats a health hazard nowadays.

I always wondered what the dynomax turbos sounded like. If I ever get tired of my welded race muffs I might consider those. So when you say "rattle" do you mean raspy or loud or both?

Re: How do I make the truck loud???

Screw it, just pull every bit of exhaust off including the headers. Get a fire extinguisher and fire it up!

Kidding, out of all the options people are listing I don't know how you're going to be able to pick one

If it were me I'd run the smallest glass pack just for tone through the smallest length of pipe possible.
