YEAH!!! Got the thing titled and registered today...it was worth the 2hr wait at DMV but that's my fault for not wanting to wait to get an appointment. So after 2+ years I can start hammering on it! (Hopefully build page soon)

So... for those of you looking at getting a truck, make sure it has a title. If not, look into what it's going to take to get it titled via Bill of Sale in your state. I'd say the hassle for me to get it titled here in CA was a good 3-5 months extra time for the hoops i had to jump through. (the other 1.5 years were life and me being lazy)

So it wasn't easy, but i can't remember who said it, but as it was said, "if it was easy, it wouldn't be cool"

Or as my contractor friends say, ff it was easy our kids would be doing it and we could sit in a warm cafe or bar all day....

57chevyman, I have to say, I really like your attitude. Every time something is brought up that we can see as a possible headache down the road for you, you jump right to the line and take care of business, it's very refreshing. I figure the previous owner left you with odds and ends that need to be addressed, not any different than what most of us had to deal with when we started our projects.

Keep up the good work, I hope this truck brings you years of enjoyment, Jim

3M Undercoating PN 08883, stunk for a day or two then went away. It dries hard.

Re: What did you do with your truck today, take 2

Put in a parts order, condenser/dryer lines, mirrors, bumper bolts and visors. Next is figuring out the paint I want to use, still debating single stage/clear vs BC/CC with a little metallic....

Installed some side trim on the 58. I was pretty excited to finally find these for my truck.

Alright CMACDONALD1 I loved your Surburban build, and I know you have some build pictures on this truck - time to share.

Re: What did you do with your truck today, take 2

Here is my project . It is a 52 7 window . It was started by some unknown person who did the original body work and abandoned for 7 years with no glass or cover. All the door bottoms are out, the front end has rust under the filler from all of the modifications. Grinding out Bondo that is over an inch thick in places!.
The cowl and floor pan is an S10 Blazer with a 4.3 Vortec ,auto,4x4 . The body is channeled 6 inches . The front end is all custom and channeled also. The rear clip is 2x4 tube with truck arm suspension and bags. Still have a lot of rust to fix in the doors and front end. The rear doors are suicide, that are made from doors sectioned to remove 12 inches in the middle and swapped side to side to hinge with stock hinges. hope to get ready to paint by spring.

Re: What did you do with your truck today, take 2

Thanks for the compliments on the burb Ricott! I don't have a bunch of pictures of the build because I bought it as a half finished project. I plan on tearing it apart and finishing the body work and paint. I will for sure take a few pictures along the way and post them up. I'm hoping to get going on this thing soon because I would love to cruise it around next summer.
