Nah, I'd probably try bolting on (like original). Don't want it falling off in a few years! Plus I'd be putting it back on later when I do a full restore on it.

Looks the same as the choke cable. My friends 67 has both the choke and throttle cables on the right side.

So he has four knobs on the dash!? I'd be super interested in seeing a pic of that! Part of why I love this site. Learn so much!

I will see what I can do. It may take a while. I'll email him and see if he can take a pic of the dash for me.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread

Well it just started pouring! Did get my tranny lines hooked up, and radiator filled 50/50 antifreeze and distilled water. Started it up, and got it up to temp. Need to go get some tranny fluid and a new transmition dip stick/tube. Right next to where the lines go into the tranny there's something sticking up (plastic) and has a small bolt in it holding it down. I think it's leaking out of it. Need to seal that up. Anyone know what part that is?

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread

raymond thecab trim does look good you need 5 peices for the drivers side and 6 on the passenger. the beds are 3 peice front back middle , the pedals and rods look good. 67 could have the trim and rubber pad to just like the 72.we need pics of the inner fender! pop those holes out (i assume they bondo'd them) and get some clips and pp the trim on!

Soon as I sell that other truck the trim'll be my first purchase! Been seeing some NOS trim on Ebay but $$$$! Would be nice to have though! Guess I'll wait to pop the holes until I get there. Don't want a bunch of holes in my truck with no trim. Probably won't do the tailgate/tailight trim or front eyebrow trim. Wanting to put fesler billet tail lights on it. Wet sanded the driver inner fender it had some bugs stuck to it. Going to give it another coat of semi-gloss black. Whenever it stops raining!

That is the kickdown cable mount area.

You really need to get a functional one on there. The base is hollow and will spew fluid out the middle if there is no cable on it any more.

It will help get that pig moving a little better when you go to accelerate while cruising down the road too.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread

So looks like on my th350 that's where the kickdown cable goes in at. It's just the plastic end peice on it, no cable. Guess I don't need it, tranny seems to shift fine without it. Guess I just need to figure out my leaking problem. Off to Auto Zone for tranny fluid and dipstick!

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread

Maybe I should get one then. That's probably where my leak is coming from. Do you know where I hook the other end up? I know on the carb, but where? Thanks!

I got my final coat of semi-gloss black on the driver inner fender and got my chrome dipstick installed. Also removed my other fender emblem. Waiting for my other set I won on Ebay to come in. Got a used set of bowtie 10 emblems and custom door emblems for $10 plus shipping! Gonna pick the best two outta the ones I got, paint the bowties in blue and shine the chrome. Also gonna do my grille emblem that way.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread

NOS trim would be nice! sounds like a plan. i know what you mean. my dads truck has a 68 bed and a 70 cab and front clip, so when i popped out the bondo holes i realized after putting all the cab and front trim that, the back holes were to high and it was 68 so he has all the holes in his bed but no trim. i was saying pop out the hole for the trim peice you have and not any others and when you get another trim peice just pop the holes out for that. so it would be either trim or a smooth body panel with no holes, until you got the trim for it.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread

Here's a couple pics. My painted inner fender (driver side) and I took off the driver side fender emblem. It fell right off. Never even had the nuts on the back of it! No tape or anything! Good thing I went to take it off, could've lost it going down the road.

You are really lucky the emblem didn't fall off with no nuts, clips or adhesive. I would check the other side to make sure it isn't about to come off too.

I will! Yeah, It'll probably be a delicate process knocking the holes back out.

I'll try and take some tomorrow (today for you all I work weird hours) and post 'em up.

It's already off. I'd put it on myself a while back. It was missing when I got the truck, put an old one I had on.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread

nocking the bondo out of the holes is easy! get a screw driver and go from the out side where you can see cracks and then for the inside you get a chisel and knock off the big part that dripped down the back side and then do the screw driver if it didnt come out

Well, Rick figured I'd just wait till I get a whole set and put it all on at once. Figure it'll look kinda funny with that one peice on the cab!
