Re: '53 duramax

Truck looks great. What fuel tank (diesel in your case) did you run out back? It looks like the filler neck comes up through the bed of your floor.

That is a baddd truck.

It's an aluminum tank from Speedway. I had to cut it apart and make it narrower because it was too close to the leaf springs. I guess it was made for stock applications. And yes the fill does come up through the bed floor. Really bugs me because when I had the tank cut down it made it off center. I'm going to get a new tank made here soon. If all goes well, the truck is going to get tore down this coming winter for a lot of upgrades...Like twin turbos, twin cp3 pumps, new fuel system and some other goodies. Or I might just start another one lol.

Stay tuned! If I can make it work, it'll be done. I have a partial sponsorship for the twin turbo project. My buddy that owns the shop that helped me build it said he would split the cost of the build so that'll definitely help! We'll do all of our own fabrication work, so it'll just be money for parts.

My wallet is empty now lol. Just bought a house and 28 acres and we're doing a lot of changes to the house. Atleast I have a shop now, it just needs to be insulated and re wired.

Congrats on an acreage and a building! I'd like to get to that point soon too.

Oh man. I'm gonna have to see what mine will do at 20lbs of boost then. Lol. Gonna have to keep up with your 5 mile long future burnouts.

Haha I'm at 20 psi+ now. It's all the stock ECM will read. I think I either have to go to a mechanical guage or look into doing a 3 bar map sensor if I could make that work. I don't plan to push it super hard with the twin kit, I don't have $15,000 to drop on a full forged rotating assembly...Well I have it, but I'm pretty sure my wife will beg to differ lol

1 psi less than it takes to lift the heads! Probably no more than 35psi.

The problem is finding the highest psi before that point. You could just put head gaskets and studs in.
