I agree with you on the auto and a/c being very desirable (aka marketable) upgrades to any truck including original survivors.

At a minimum, the "upgrade" shrinks the potential buyer pool by at least 1... But I'd be willing to bet I'm not alone. It can also potentially shrink the price - i.e. it's a false assumption by sellers that they can get original Super money by slapping Super emblems on a truck (unless, of course, they're taking it to Barrett-Jackson). I'd submit that this seller would make more actual profit had he not lifted it, not added Super emblems, not added aftermarket wheels, etc and just sold it as it was, a Cheyenne K10 swb, a rare bird in its own right that buyers will pay top dollar for.

Again, don't get me wrong, this is clearly a very nice truck and my comment is meant to be more general in nature because we see all kinds of trim levels advertised as Supers these days, and there's nothing wrong with that (this seller clearly readily provided a SPID when asked) - but, in some cases, I think sellers are actually shrinking their buyer pool and hurting their profit margin by upgrading to a fake trim level. My 2 cents.
I agree with you Jocko.

Something seems a little fishy with this one. It may be legit, but my Spidy senses are heightened with the way it's written - ??

yep, I noticed that but glad you said it first

phrases like tack rpm and a row bar don't inspire a lot of confidence in authenticity but they have title and accepting cash only so possibly just an ESL situation?

worth a look, that's a really soft price if it's legit..

I thought might be a scam also, but they did list a Reno area code phone number and they wanted phone calls only so that leads me to believe it's some what legit. The ad "has been deleted by its author" so I'm thinking someone jumped on and hopefully got a hell of a deal.

In my opinion this thread is far more interesting with pictures and prices posted. So many of the links are dead ends within hours.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds Part 2

Mine isn’t a link to an ad but a minor success story. Posted an ad for “wanted, seat for 68 c10” and was lucky enough to get a response. “I have a nice seat- come get it”
Nice seat, even nicer guy, and free!
He put some buckets in so he was done with the bench.

Post up an ad. It worked for Mr. FourSpeedWagon. You never know.

BTW, I drove to Yakima once looking for my mother in law. Big mistake.

Needs a little shampoo now that I see it in the light - but well worth the price.

Sorry you came here for your MIL. There’s gotta be something good you could’ve come for!

Not craigslist but ebay 69 3500 Longhorn with chrome hooks
Not sure about the mileage claim but could be and you can't restore/build for the asking price.

Just realized that GMC has the big block V6 305 in it. First guess is they drove it a few tanks and found out what kind of mileage they were getting with it- and parked it!

jk. I know there are fans but the couple I’ve had experience with got about 4mpg.

Yep... this outfit I worked for in the mid 70's had about a 66 GMC big 8 or 10 yard dump truck that if I remember correctly had about a 400 ci V6 gas motor in it, they pulled a backhoe with it and probably got about 2-3 mpg. Slow as molasses that thing was.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds Part 2

And mounted.
I was pulling my old seat to get it recovered and found that the frame had cracked and been welded (poorly of course) so I thought I’d advertise for another seat just in case the other was so far gone. Didn’t expect one this nice- for free.
I love Craigslist and wish that fakebook wasn’t taking over the local ads. I don’t intend to be on there but it gets harder all the time with less and less ads on CL.

1971 Chevrolet K20 4-speed - LWB Stepside, (1) of (674) made? If did not have mine already, I would have driven up to Salado to look and would have been a serious buyer!

Odd it was posted 3 months ago, makes me wonder if it has been sold already.

overpriced and difficult seller..

serious buyer ≠ buys everything they look at

seller's sentimental value ≠ market value
