Re: Post pics of your Longbed Trucks!! No short stuffs allowed!!

This is a great thread with so many variations of cool longbox trucks!

First pic is my best friend for the last 31 years, my '72 C2500. I have a hard time calling it an old gal or she. It's been less tempermental than any woman I've ever known (don't tell my wife of 32 years!) Unfortunately a month or so ago it devloped a miss while we were hauling some junk to the dump and discovered a burnt exhaust valve on #6. Still runs ok but I better pull a head. I built that engine in 1986. You would think this stuff would last longer than that.

Second pic- I thought MREIN3 might like this view.

Third is a '71 K20 that I bought in '08 as it was going to the crusher. Runs ok but no time to fix it up much yet. Yes the front clip has been replaced at one time but it is still a very solid old truck.

Keep 'em comin'!!

Later---DAC

Re: Post pics of your Longbed Trucks!! No short stuffs allowed!!

I just bought this '72 C10 and was just going to use it as a fun weekend truck. But after seeing all the rust and electrial issues I've decided to merge it with my 1967 body parts. As I have almost new of everything for it and it's a 3/4 ton and since this one is already a 5 bolt 1/2 ton the conversation will be fairly straight forward!

Great looking truck and I am wondering what are your lowering specs and tire sizes. It is lowered isn't it?

Thanks Already.

It is lowered. My dad and my brother and I lowered it. It's dropped 4.5/5.5. Right now I have 235/70/15 tires all around. But I am gonna get some 275/60/15 for the rears soon.

Very nice truck, so my question is what kind of sport mirrors are you using?

Thats about what I was thinking I want to use.

Re: Post pics of your Longbed Trucks!! No short stuffs allowed!!

I did not take one pic of it, as soon as the wrecker dropped off the rollback i cut it up with the blue tip wrench, kinda helped with the built up aggresion. I had a lot of time in that truck, body and paint is all it needed. I have started over now with a porter built front crossmember so it will never happen again. It is funny when you here people say they " rail the truck while driving" that means drag the frame in normal english. Don't do it. You will end up in the hospital like i did.
