Re: New member with barn find

I got it running and tuned up, (click pic above) I have my old exhaust on it know just so I could run it. Also got the top and hatch installed. I removed the spring pads and shock mounts on the 14 bolt so I can set the pinion angle and new shock mounts. I want to throw the seats in and a spare tire before I weld the spring pads, Ounce the rear is done I can bleed the brakes and take it for a test ride.

Re: New member with barn find

Lookin really nice. I read you moved the engine x-member forward for the tranny swap. How much did you move it? Any clearance issues to the front differential with just the 2.5" lift?

I moved it forward 2" and back about 3/4". I used a spacer/adapter between the trans and transfer case, and my factory driveshaft's still fit. Even with a D60 I have plenty or clearance between the diff and engine support.

Good eye Richard, the only way to get them down is to slide them off the rod and spin them down.

Re: New member with barn find

Today was the day, I drove my Blazer into the garage three years ago and drove it out today. I think it was happy to sit in the sun. I still need to work on the steering but I was able to drive it up and down the driveway. I still have lots to do but I can see the light.

thanks guys, I have 16.5 x 9.75 steelies but they may be too wide so now I may go with some old school 8.25 wide aluminum slots with 33x12.5.

Can you clarify for me. The engine cross member moved ahead 2"and back 3/4"so a total of 1.25" forward ? Or am I misunderstanding.

Re: New member with barn find

Sure, I moved the Engine cross member forward 2" to the existing holes on top of the driver side frame rail and the transfer case cross member was mover back about 3/4".

Thanks for the update. Who did you get your fuel and brake line sets from? What was the fit like?

Re: New member with barn find

Truck looks great, nice choice again on the tire/wheel combo. Just noticed the top is different than most Blazers, how come it has bars on it. Is it an optional top. Looks interesting.
